Can you load money on to a Disney gift card on board?

We usually get my daughters each a Disney gift card that can be used at the parks for our trips. It keeps them from wanting "everything" because they have a budget, set by the amount left on their cards. We are going on our first cruise later this week, and I failed to order new gift cards. Way to,go Mom! So, can I bring the empty gift cards and add money to them on board? If so, where do I do this? Are gift cards that work at the parks also ok to use at the shops on the ship? I know regular Disney Store gift cards don't work at the parks. We are on the Dream, if that helps.

If your gift card has the DCL logo on it (good on DCL) you can load/use it. Probably just go to the cashier in one of the shops and ask them to do it.

They even sell gift cards in the stores in the ships.

However, if you want your kid being able to use the gift cards on board, only the big souvenir shops take them as far as I know. Not sure about other locations like Vanelloppe's, the smoothie window.

You'd have to use your onboard account to load it though, right?

I'm not sure you can reload. They sell them in gift shops and there are certain fixed amounts they will put on them. And yes they get charged to your onboard account.
