Can you live at WDW?

Yes. You can live there for about 1 minute, until they catch you, and then you can live in the County Jail.:p

If you read my tag, you'll see that I've often thought about trying it - everytime I get in that treehouse.;)

hehe, well if you are willing to pay, you can stay at the resort as long as you want, but I think it's much cheaper to just get a nearby apartment! ;)

I practically live there myself. I do almost everything there but sleep...

I suppose you could live there, but it would cost you an awful lot of money!

I personally have never heard of CMs living there, but I guess it's possible...:confused3

Oh man, wouldn't that be wonderful, to actually live in WDW?!!!

Maybe when the kids get out of HS (about 14 years from now), we can think about moving there! (at least to Orlando)

WOW!!!:sunny:

Well.. Of course I can live at WDW... But would they let me? :p Ok, maybe they will let me take a quick nap at one of those benches nearby the Castle, probably as long as I don't snore or drool. :teeth:

AP Rate at a Moderate, $74 X 30 Days = $2220 a month, before tax.

I think it's worth it though. :)

No, not actually. You would need to check out, then check back in, every 30 days, so as to not be a resident of FL.

Yeah, but if you are a resident of Fl, wouldn't you get a better rate???? ;)

There used to be a rumor that the college kids that work at WDW for their college credit program (sorry, don't know the acronym although I've seen it here many times) stayed in apartments that were carefully hidden above the shops on Main Street. Is there any truth to that? If not, where DO all those kids stay, in apartments?

The students in the WDW College Program (CP) stay in Disney owned apartment complexes, Vista Way, and Chatham. I'm pretty sure these are NOT on main street in the MK though.

Those apartments are located in some of the non-guests areas of WDW. It's amazing to learn what's on Disney property you have never even thought of;)

LOL - I've never heard that rumor! No, the CP apartments are past PI an the DTD hotels, and across 535 even! Would have been nice, though, to live on Main Street!

You could, of course, live in the hotel, but it is rather expensive.

There's Celebration, of course.

And there is some houses on Disney property that are sold (or probably only leased or rented - I don't think Disney would actually give up the property rights!) only to cast members. But it's the Imagineers and whatnot who get those, not Stepharoonie the Front Desk Clerk. ;)

There was rumor awhile back that a guy actually had a permanent room at the Contemporary and actually lived there. Not sure if it's true, but I heard he had birthday parties from the CM's and was pretty nice setup. I would imagine that would be expensive, but I guess if you are a multi-millionaire, not a bad way to live...

You can stay at Fort Wilderness for months at a time. There is a special winter rate for "snowbirds" who have their own motorhomes. Last trip there a fellow was saying that with all his discounts, he was paying only $19.00 per day to stay at Fort Wilderness. And I've visited a website that talked about working part-time while staying at Fort W. That way you're a CM and don't have to pay to get in the parks.

Go to the camping board and ask this question for more info.

$2220 a month? Bargain central. We paid $3,300 per month for an apartment in NYC.

Yeah, and I'll bet you didn't get towel animals in your apartment every night!
