Can you just order an appetizer?

.. or is that rude to take up a table by only snacking on an appetizer? I am asking b/c I would like to try T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe but not that interested in spending a fortune at either place, just want to go for the experience. Anyways, I thought DH and I could share an appetizer and DS could order a meal from the child's menu, but I don't want to try it if it's not allowed or considered rude.

Sure it's allowed. Those app.'s at both places are huge! My DH and I love sharing appetizers. Sometimes we just make a meal out of it. T-Rex is fun, but loud.

I want my ds's to experience T Rex also, but didn't really want to spend money on a full meal there. I was planning on doing an appetizer also.

My family and I ranging in age from 25yo DD to 54 SIL, have gone to T-Rex just for app's several times. We choose to sit at the bar as there is usually never a wait time. We try to order 2 apps and a side of ribs (they are the best ribs I have had in years)
I say go for it and enjoy the atmosphere... don't forget to Build a Dino my daughter has 2 and SIL has 3 so far

We do it all of the time. We are not big eaters, usually fruits/salads.

We do enjoy Jiko, AP, and several other dining options, however, there are several times we split items, etc.

The 3 of us just ordered the Nachos and some other appetizer at T-Rex in January! No problem.
