Can you hire a Disney character to visit your resort room?

I thought I had read awhile back you could hire a character to stop by your room but can't find anything about it now.

I've never heard about them visiting someone's room but people do have them come to their weddings. They costs thousands of dollars for like 30 minutes of time. I suppose you could contact disney catered events if you are willing to spend that kind of money and see if that is at all possible.

I think there may be some confusion here.

Can you meet a character in your room? Sorry, no. (I'd request Captain Jack Sparrow so fast...whooo! *fans self*)

BUT! Through Disney Floral & Gift, you can order an in room celebration, where when you come back you find out either Mickey, Minnie, Tink, The Fairy Godmother, or Captain Jack has been there and left treats, depending on the celebration you order.

I hope that clarifies what you might have heard.

I don't think it's typical, but it couldn't hurt to ask. I've always been told..."If you've got enough $$$$$."
Now by money...I mean....Big. Money.
But typically offered service, no way.

I would think 'no' just because of the logistics of getting a big character to your room. Imagine how many people/kids he would have to get through.

I'm picturing Mickey on a luggage cart with a sheet thrown over it, being pushed into the elevator, down the hall, and into the room . . .

I'm guessing that there may be some back of the house access to the top of the top suites on property - places like where Princess Diana and the boys stayed when they went to Disney - but just a guess. I'm thinking if you are a really high profile guest, you may need to come and go out of sight of other guests as well.

There was an article in this week's Sunday Parade magazine that you could hire Mickey or Minnie to come to your wedding on Disney property for $3500.

The thing is, you can absolutely book private M&Gs for conventions. There's a Frozen character breakfast ONLY available to be booked to a convention that every so often someone hears about a friend having gone to, and is put out to hear it's not generally available..

So, my thought is that if you were willing to pay the convention rate for your party of 5 or whatever, which is to say you'd need to book the restaurant convention minimum or whatever... they'd do it. Money's the same, effort is actually lower. I mean, if I were the GM involved, I'd totally do it, because on a P&L basis same income + lower cost? Obvious win.

I knew a meeting planner who worked with Disney a lot, and they told me that basically, if you're offering enough bucks, Disney will do anything you ask as long as it's not illegal.

I'm sure if a major celebrity wants Mickey to come tuck their kid in and will fork out enough cash, Mickey will be there.

Officially? NO.

Unofficially....you betcha. I won't link the business here, but there are businesses that will bring face characters to your room......

We had Mickey and Minnie come to our vow renewal at Aulani. Worth the money.

I'm DYING to know what that cost - if that's not too rude to ask?? And, was it at a function (like, did you book a room/catering through Aulani, for the vow renewal reception, and added the characters as part of that function)? I.e., wondering if it was an add-on available when you are already booked/paying for an event/function.

Thanks for all the responses! I think I'll go through Floral and Gifts to have something left from Mickey for the kids and that will be just fine.
