Can you HELP? RE: My brother in IRAQ

Brodey,

I am a h.s. U.S. History teacher. When this war is all over, the historians will write the books on the wonderful things your are accomplishing. Don't let the media hype ever get you down. Million of Americans support you.

I am impressed that you are a Marine. I love when my former students come back in their Marine uniforms. They are so much STRONGER inside. Remember that strength you've developed.

I am raising two young boys, currently Cub Scouts, and they respect the flag. They pray for our troops at bedtime & the people our troops are helping.

You are helping. Thank you for your service! We are honored by your commitment. Here's a hug from IL. :grouphug:

To Brodey,
Although you don't know us, please understand that we are very grateful for your service. We are lucky in the US to have a volunteer military so that we get the best, bravest and willing people to serve. Good luck and stay safe!

Thanks for all you and Kilo Company do everyday Brodey. We're all keeping you in our thoughts.

Leila

Hi Brodey!

First thank you so much from our entire family! Sending you prayers for a safe and better time for you over there.

Thinking of you!

Brodey,

Hang in there....we need guys like you. Keep yourself safe and let all your fellow Marines know how much we love and appreciate them too. :grouphug: I am including a joke I saw on another site...thought it might give you a chuckle.

RNMOM

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases.

On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining
room table by candlelight, put on some soft background
music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of
Chardonnay.

When she had finished, she went into each and every room and stuffed
half-eaten shrimp shells dipped in caviar, into the hollow end of the all
of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the
first few days. Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried
everything, cleaning, mopping, and airing the place out. Vents were checked
for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned, air fresheners were hung
everywhere.

Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they
had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace
the expensive wool carpeting.

Nothing worked.
People stopped coming over to visit.
Repairmen refused to work in the house.
The maid quit.

Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move. A
month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not
find a buyer for their stinky house.

Word got out, and eventually, even the local realtors refused to return
their calls.

Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a
new place.

The ex-wife called the man, and asked how things were going. He told her
the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely, and said that she
missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce
settlement in exchange for getting the house back.

Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a price
that was about 1/14th of what the house had been worth, but only if she
were to sign the papers that very day.

She agreed, and, within the hour his lawyers delivered the paperwork. A
week later the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the
moving company pack everything to take to their new home........

including the curtain rods.

I love a happy ending, don't you?

:rotfl:

Brodey,

Don't think your country has forgotten about you. As DVC Mary said millions of us support everything you guys and gals have done, and we are praying for all of you.

Don't know who said it, but it's my favorite quote:"Courage means doing the right thing at the right time"

There is no doubt of how much courage you all have. :thumbsup2

Brodey! Your sister is one of the "internet cult" members that I have had the pleasure of meeting in real life!! We shared a fireworks cruise at WDW a couple of months ago. And in just a couple of more months I know Christine looks forward to sharing that kind of magic with you too!! :wizard:

So hang in there, know that there are a TON of people here, and we're praying for you and supporting you, as well as the rest of our troops!!

Stay strong and safe and we'll see you back here soon!!!

Brodey, I hope this thread has brought a smile to your face. Share it with your friends. You all need to know you are loved and greatly appreciated by all of us.

Your sister is one of the kindest, sweetest, most loving people in the world. I'm honored to know her and I hope one day I'll have the honor of meeting you.

We can't wait for you to be home....all of you.

Brodey,

I know it must be a challenge being so far from home facing the adversity that you do, but please try to take comfort in the fact that you are in the thoughts and prayers of millions of people. It doesn't matter which political side people are on, they all want our servicemen and women to come home safe.

You are doing a good and noble thing and I hope that someday there will be a visible result for the rest of the world. Regardless, you and your military brothers and sisters have made life much better for much of the population of Iraq.

We are just strangers on a message board, but we represent thousands of other people who feel this way too! Hugs to all of you!

Hi Brodey,

My husband is in the Army and in Iraq now. He is in a field artillery unit supporting a group of Marines, and I know the Marines have saved his life on at least one occasion. Your work is important, and I thank you and all your fellow Marines from the bottom of my heart. Keep focused on your mission, stay safe, try to stay cool, and come home soon.

:sunny: Brodey.....I want you to know that my DH and I are so very proud of you. You are helping to keep our Country safe for us and for that Thank You so very much. I will say a prayer for you safety and health.
