Can you hear the traffic?

What!? I can't come up with anything at DLR to compare to Dinoland.

I usually prefer to save a lot of cash and stay off site, we did enjoy our stay at Stovall's this year, a fairly quiet, lovely walk behind the parks, through the Grand, and DtD to the parks.

I'm assuming they were talking about the Paradise Pier area with all the games. I have to say I prefer that area to Chester and Hester's because the prizes we won were actually Disney related!!! And I believe were cheaper then Chester and Hester's!

I just got back from a stay at Stovall's and also enjoyed the walk behind the parks and through the grand. I said I've walked further from the bus stops at Epcot to the gate or from my room at Caribbean beach to get the bus!! Definitely liked Stovall's and the ability to walk everywhere in Disneyland

I suppose I can see that, however to me it's much more beautifully done.
Yay for Stovall love! For now I have Motel 6 booked for our upcoming DLR visit, come on LMT, post a Stovall's deal!
I love your comparisons on the walks, our LM room at AOA last month was a trek from the bus area, we had nine park days, lots of walking.

For the most part no, you can't hear anything from outside. But last Saturday night, we were waiting for the train at the Tomorrowland station and a few emergency vehicles went by on Harbor, sirens blaring. And it was definitely noticeable there since that station is right up against Harbor.

We joked with another family about how easy it is to forget the outside world when you are in Disneyland.

But the reason why those sirens were so noticeable was because there was no other noticeable outside noise.

DLR and WDW are not the same, and they don't claim to be. If you go in expecting to have the same experience, you will likely leave disappointed.

I suppose that might be it. Though the games at DCA are kinda fun, and if you work out strategy you can always win something. Not sure the same is true for Dinoland.

No you cant hear any traffic or outside noise at all. Vice versa when you are on the opposite side of the fence outside Disneyland on Harbor Blvd or elsewhere at the resort/Downtown Disney. You can't hear music or land sounds from inside. Actually Disneyland is surrounded in hedges. One who's never been to Disneyland and doesnt know where its located could easily drive right past it and not even know it.

The first time we went to Disney we were almost in the park before our kids realized where we were.

And then they promptly asked to go back to the hotel to swim. :furious: :lmao:

I think they were probably only four and six, somewhere in that age range.

We were on the tram leaving the park and heard a dad asking his young kids what their favorite part of the day was. "The escalator!!" (the longest one at M&F) was the excited cry. He then asked for their second choice. "The tram!!" Somewhat exasperated, he asked for their third choice. "The pool!!" We all laughed when he said that he could have saved so much money had he only known! :)

Thanks for all the responses and thoughts. I know WDW and DLR are different, and that's a main reason for wanting to go. Now, time to do some more research and figure out when to go!!!!
