Can you have coolers in room at Dolphin and if so, best place to buy a collapsible?

We are flying and were in hopes of taking a collapsible soft side cooler to keep in the room. Does anyone know if this is OK and if so, does places like WalMart have the soft side ones that are prettly good size?

you may want to consider grabbing a styrofoam one when you make the grocery stop. Even the collapsible ones, when folded up, can take up a chunk of prime luggage real estate. We brought one on the last trip. After returning, and beginning to lurk around here and other boards, I read about how the grocery stores sell the styro. coolers and that was what most people used. You don't have to lug it from home AND the foam ones are pretty big (the soft one we had brought wasn't tiny, but very compact).

If you do want to bring your own soft, collaspible then you will be able to find quite a selection at both Walmart and Target.

If we are only there for a few nights we bring a small soft-sided one with an ice-pack.....right onto the plane as one person's carry-on with our sandwiches and water (flying Southwest) I don't remember where we got it but I would imagine Walmart, Target, any outdoor specialty places would have a good selection. But since we make a grocery stop anyway, we just buy a styrofoam cooler at the grocery store if we are going to be there more than a few nights, and just take it to our room at the Dolphin. Last year I think it cost us $2.99 for the cooler...we just left it in the room when we left. We certainly made up the cost of the cooler in the savings on bottled water alone.......not to mention the six-pack of beer, juice boxes, real milk or cream for the in-room coffee, fruit, even snacking cheese and dips. We'd just replenish the ice every day and chill a few more bottles of water or whatever.

Enjoy your trip!

A little differing opinion here, as I always take the soft sided collapsible cooler with me. I have two of the big daddies (72 can capacity, I believe?) and a smaller 48 can capacity. I usually take one large and the smaller with me for 6 of us.
The large I use for milk, juice, and sodas (we drink a lot of those) and water and use the smaller for lunchmeats and other sandwich stuff (lettuce, tomato--that kind of stuff).
To keep from using room in luggage, I've done a couple of things. I use them as luggage, if needed and check them on through. I have also used them to carry my trading pins, bath supplies (we always take our own shampoo, bath and shower get, etc) or I've out snacks for them room in them.
I am never without my soft-side coolers.

BTW--they fit great under the sink at the Dolphi. Easy to access, yet, out of the way.

I think we got all of ours at Wal-Mart, but, I'm not sure. Maybe one from Target????

at the Dolphin is that they will empty out the minifridge for you for a $20 (last time I was there in Oct.) charge. This gives you a small refrigerator to use if you do not like messing with the ice.
