I have reservations for a trip next week where we are staying at the Dolphin for 5 days and Coronoda Springs for the next 4. Ideally, I would rather stay at a resort on the monorail track (Polynesian, Contemporary, Grand Floridian.) that either of these, and please do not take offense as I KNOW the Dolphin is a fine hotel.
Basically this would be called an "upsell" (with me throwing in the leverage of extending my stay) - but I don't know if Disney will allow upsells to different resorts, instead of just a different view, level of service, etc... at the same resort.
Since I will be down there at the Dolphin, a non-disney hotel in terms of their reservation system, Disney may see an advantage to me starting my Disney (non-dolphin) vacation earlier. (They don't have to know, and probably wouldn't care, that I would be trading in Dolphin time.)
Would I have any way of talking Disney into getting into a "monorail resort" to use up their unused room at a greatly reduced rate since they may be trying to fill unused rooms this close to the date? I could even stop in and haggle in person.
Do I have any chance? Or is that just not the way it works?
(We do have annual passes, so we already would get a discount. I am just trying to see if Disney would let me stay at the Contemporary, etc... for the same ballpark # as Coronodo if they knew they would be getting more $ out of me by extending the stay. Keep in mind, basically I am offering them more $ but a lower rate.)
I personally don't think this will work - anyone think otherwise?
My apologies to anyone that thinks I'm conniving
I just bought a new car so I'm in the mood!
Thanks!
