Can you guys recommend a restaurant for our anniversary?

Hi everyone!

My DH and I are celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary in WDW this May, and I would like to do a signature restaurant for our anniversary dinner. The only signature we have ever done is Artist Point, and we really liked it, but I'd like to try something different.

My top 2 choices are California Grill or Jiko. I'm leaning more towards CA grill because my DH loves sushi and I think he'd really like it, and I'd love to eat at the CR. I have also read really awesome reviews of Jiko, but I'm not sure we're brave enough for Jiko. Well, I'm sure my DH is, but I'm not sure I am!

Are either of these choices good? Any other signatures that anyone would recommend?

The California Grill is one of my favorite restaurants on site, on par with the best restaurants in most major cities. The only other one that compares (IMHO) is Victoria & Albert's, but that's a bit pricy even for me.

Several times we've celebrated our anniversary at Artist Point. In April we plan to celebrate our 30th there. For our 25th, we got personnalized menus and a complimentary dessert. We always get a beautiful table, and have been pleased with the service, food, and atmosphere.

DS and DDIL went to California Grill, and thought it was nice, but kind of loud and bustling.

Another vote for CG! DH & I ate there last fall for our 10th anniversary. We loved it! And we had great service too!

California grill is GREAt! But Citricos can be a little quieter and has excellent food...

We are doing Citricos for my birthday and Jiko as our anniversary (10 years!) dinner during this trip...

Another vote for CG!! We love it there--good food--lots of options--and we've always had good service. Another thought for something really special would be the Chef's table at The Flying Fish--one of my top 10 meals EVER (and I'm an old broad). Pricey but very memorable.

If you can swing it, Victoria and Albert's hands down. We did that for our 6th anniversary and loved it! Besides that, CG has always been on my wish list, but we haven't made it yet . . . though we do not care for sushi either. I would probably choose CG or Bistro de Paris (on the hope it is way better than Chefs de France).

We ate at Artist Point once . . . it was good food and pretty inside. I don't think I'd return for my anniversary.

We ate at Flying Fish last trip. I know it gets good reviews and it was pretty good. But I didn't think it was outstanding. Maybe my expectations were too high from the boards? But DH felt the same way.

Citrico's - have not been, but looks too Mediterranean overall for us. Gets great reviews here though.

Le Cellier isn't worth it for 2 credits at dinner, though the filet is fantastic. OOP, your call.

Narcoossee's, I think most will tell you to avoid.

Jiko and California Grill are my #1 and #2 choices. Jiko has the more romantic ambiance, but I don't think you can go wrong either way!

California Grill, is loud, overrun with screaming kids that don't know how to sit at a table and has some of the poorest trained CM servers in WDW.

Spend an important dinner there at your will, but be forewarned. It was one of the worst ever Disney meals (Narcoosee edges it out by a bit). Food that was inedible, a server who truly couldn't function and noisy to the point of not being able to carry on a conversation.

Choose Jiko, or if you really want romance and excellent food try Bistro de Paris. They have an incredible degustation menu that would be great for an anniversary. We loved the choices we had the evening that we did it.

BlueZoo is nice, and can be intimate. Victoria and Albert's is always mentioned when special events are being discussed.

We enjoy Artist Point too. Yachtsman's Steakhouse is another, but it has fallen prey to the damage done by the DDP.

If you want a memorable experience in a Disney restaurant, then we highly recommend Victoria & Alberts. Please look in the restaurant threads for reviews and pictures. It is pricey, yet what you receive in exchange is an unparalelled Disney dining experience.

Whatever restaurant you choose, Happy 2nd Anniversary and may you have many more anniversaries to celebrate.

Like many retail business, restaurants have been said to work best when utilizing the thre fundamentals, "Location, location, location."

The marginal differences between the Signature restaurants are a very personal choice based on an individual (and couple's) calculus.

CA Grill has a great view. Citrico's is a bit quieter. Jiko might be the best ambiance. Flying Fish the best location to Hollywood Studios/Epcot....

Maybe your romantic decison includes being at the Magic Kingdom fireworks or Illumination, or Fantasmic.....maybe one of the cruises....

As much as I enjoy dinner-as-theater, Disney parks after dark are a good part of romantic planning at Disney......

I find that we enjoy Disney when the travel plans are minimized...

Think about getting to/from Point-A to Point-B.....it makes the dining selections easier.

This is what I always think when I hear about people going there for romance.

DISers are always talking about how they're taking their kids there. This is the same group of people who do not believe children should be removed from restaurants for being loud or crying. They also ask how it is possible for them to teach their children table manners if they don't take them to restaurants and allow the little darlings to misbehave.

I'd go to Jiko based solely on the possibility of less children.

V&A is the perfect spot for an anniversary dinner. We have celebrated anniversaries there twice and it just can't be beat. You will be guaranteed of no small children in the restaurant since anyone under 10 years of age isn't allowed in the restaurant. Absolutely the most romantic restaurant at WDW.

Second would be the Bistro de Paris in EPCOT - very upscale and unrushed, with superb food, especially considering it's in a theme park. Best of all you can catch Illuminations after dinner! We were told by our server in July that they only book one group per table per night, so the table is yours for as long as you want it.

My final recommendation would be Citricos. We've always enjoyed the food and service there, although there will be more kids there than at my other two choices.

We just got back from celebrating our Anniversary at WDW. We were there for 5 nights and the Signatures that we ate at were Citricos, Cali Grill, Brown Derby, and Artist Point. I would actually recommend Citricos of all these, followed by Artist Point and then Cali Grill. We have never tried Jiko.

When DH and I celebrated our anniversary we went to CA Grill and LOVED it. The view is beautiful, staff is wonderful and food was great. We have also dined at Yachtsman Steakhouse and enjoyed that too. Whatever you dine, let them know its your anniversary for some magic.

CG is a must-do for us! Yes, we bring the kids, but our kids behave!

Seriously, the food is delicious. We love good food and my husband still rates a filet mignon that he had there as one of his best meals ever. If you go on the later side, there are less children. Maybe an 8 p.m. reservation, with drinks and Wishes to start, then a quieter dinner when Wishes is over and all the people that have been hanging out waiting for Wishes have left. If Wishes is on your agenda, there is a quieter, less populated outside walkway--ask the greeter about that.

I really like both Jiko and CA Grill, but I like Jiko better. The service is incredible, and the food is just so delicious. Don't worry, the food isn't as exotic as it may sound on the menu. If you do decide to try CA grill, try to dine late and get a view of the fireworks! So beautiful

we celebrated our mum and dad 25th wedding anniversary at The Grand Floridian Cafe and it was lovely, also really enjoyed Captains Grill at Beach Club resort.
