Can you go to Riviera for CS if you aren't staying there?? Heard people were being turned away.

My DH and DS went for a quick trip in March and I couldn't go due to work. He said they got off skyliner to look around Riviera and there was a CM turning people away who didn't have ADR or were staying there. We are going in Sept and I would like to go check it out and maybe eat at Topilino's (fingers crossed lol) if not try CS. I really want to check out the souvenirs there.

I've never heard of that happening.

We stop in there quite often (last time was about 2 weeks ago) and have never even seen a CM stationed anywhere other than the one telling us to watch our step exiting the Skyliner.

Great! I don't know if the resort was filling up with people and due to covid they were trying to lessen the numbers that day. It was the only time he had to go so he didn't try again.

You can just ride the Skyliner over from Epcot or the Hub... We checked out Rivera one afternoon, plus you can use the mobile order at Primo Piatto. The Bar restaurant is also open and they serve the Monte Cristo!

We were there two weeks ago and went to Riviera twice. Walked around the whole place, ate and shopped. It wasn't busy at all in fact seemed pretty empty and there was never a CM turning anyone away.

Lots of resorts are denying people from driving themselves and parking (without an ADR), but I’ve never heard of anyone being turned away via the skyliner.

We rode the Skyliner over to Riviera back in October just to look around. No one stopped us or said a thing. Your's is the first account I've heard of anyone being turned away at the Skyliner station. I've only heard about people trying to drive over and park and being stopped at the gate.

On another day we left Epcot and walked over to Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club for a bit. Again - no one said a word.

As other have said, as a rule of thumb you're likely fine arriving by Disney transportation. Arriving by car service is hit or miss, and driving your own car will almost always be a no. Even if you've placed a mobile order that may not be enough to get you in using your own car.

Is Monte Crisco back on the menu?? I was there in December ~no Monte Crisco ~ had to make one when I came home. My husband said I was nuts! Going back next month:love:

Monte Cristo is NOT currently on the menu. I'm here now and can attest to that. According to the bartender I spoke to, there is no eta on when it might return. (Of course, I'm not sure if bartender = bus driver for things like this, so take it for what it is).

I was blocked from placing a lunch order at the contempo cafe because I was not a guest at the resort. The place was empty.
I took a screen shot because I was surprised by the message.... Disney must be making so much money they can turn customers away. We went to Panera Bread near the outlets and went shopping offsite

This is true. Staying at Contemporary now and got the pop-up message advising that Contempo Cafe orders were exclusively for guests of here or Bay Lake Tower. Not sure if this has to do with the abuse of guests mobile ordering and attempting to drive in for proximity to MK parking.

The place was empty and the food is nothing to write home about. I can remember the days when Disney wanted my money

I think people were mobile-ordering a $4 coffee, no food. and then parking at the contemporary all day, to avoid paying the $25 daily parking fee at the parks. So Disney wants that extra $20! 🤣🤣
True.... but once they scan my band and see I’m staying onsite, Disney should cater to me opening my wallet. Maybe some AI could allow screening to my app and let me press the purchase tab. The mobile app gives them a ton of info.

That is exactly the reason. Disney can keep track of things like cancelled mobile orders, and I'm sure they were observing a LARGE number of cancelled orders or (a la BOG - though they never did anything about them) mobile orders simply of coffee happening strangely around park opening time.

If the food is "nothing to write home about" then why the fuss unless you wanted to use the parking? Genuinely curious.

Thanks - I didn’t think so, but was tiny, tiny bit hopeful to sit in Bar Riva with a drink and Monte Crisco. pirate:8-) Maybe next time

Honestly, parking to enter MK is not the reason for visiting the resort. We visit the resorts to eat & shop. I “fuss” because I remember what Disney service and attention to detail use to be.
I’m guessing price of goods is going to rise substantially in the next 12-24 months and Disney will have to change in improving customer service and quality.. the very things that put them on the tourist map long ago.
We still love Disney for the things you may not notice.

For you. But MANY on here and in other forums post asking "How long can we park at [insert resort in walking distance of a park here] because we're having breakfast there and want to walk over to [said park] after for the day and don't want to move our car. Is that ok?" And so Disney had to crack down.

People abusing things is why we can't have nice things.
