I have never had the monte cristo sandwich in all my years and wanted to get it this time. i know the blue bayou used to have it, but looking at the menus, i dont see it, it seems to be at the cafe orleans, is this correct, or is it at both places??

If you don't mind not having the starters, sides, and atmosphere of the Blue Bayou, get the sandwich at Cafe Orleans. It is the same sandwich at a much less expensive price! I used to love going to the Blue Bayou, but just can't stomach the cost anymore.

yea, im not liking the prices ive seen at blue bayou, but would love to try it, it looks so neat in there and in all the years i have still never ate in there!

I do love the atmosphere of the Blue Bayou, and it is great to go at least once just to experience it.

We went for lunch on December 11th and DH and I both had the MC sandwich. This was a definite splurge meal, but even knowing we were planning on stuffing ourselves, neither of us could finish the sandwich. We started cutting off most of the edges and eating just some of the middles. The gumbo and salad and sides that came with it really made it a full meal. I'd recommend either a) doing a split meal where you pay about $10 for the second person and you each get half the sandwich but you both get salad, soup, and sides - or - b) asking for an extra plate and actually split everything but with no extra charge.

Go with the cheapest. I feel the MC is over rated personally

I think the MC is one of the best sandwiches at DLR. LOL We go to BB for lunch because they only have the MC then, not at dinner. :) DBF gets it and I always get a few bites, if not a full quarter. :) The split plate charge is $12 but you will get extra sides. For what it's worth the sandwich is the same at CO & BB, but you don't get sides (except some grapes and maybe a strawberry) at CO. You could always go to CO for lunch, get the Pomme Frites and MC and then for dessert a little later go to BB, but I only suggest that if they have the cookie boat back on the dessert menu. :)

Had the MC at BB on Wednesday. 21 bucks! Wow! good but not all that. BB is a must but only if money is no object. This place is really a money grab for DL!

Trust me there alot more expensive places in this world that have alot less atmosphere and outright coolness than the BB. It all depends what you want to spend your $$$. I bet you would find a number of coffee junkies on this board who think nothing of dumping a bunch of $$$ on a cup of coffee. I would not.
To me the sandwich is over rated, but to each their own. My DGF loves them.
