Can You Get Pregnant If . . .(For Women Dis'rs) UPDATE PAGE 4

That would be pretty young, but not impossible. If your mom started early, you'll start early. And it can start something like 10 years before it's all over.

You're probably just late -- women are late all the time for no obvious reason.

I've heard of it happening, but you may just be stressing yourself out now over the fact that it hasn't started. I've done that before!

Good luck :)

my ex-SIL got pregnant after he DH had THE operation...she was 5 months along before she realized she was pregnant! they had just assumed that it was all said and done and wouldn't have to worry about it. she was always regular too, so she chalked it up to stress and all...but then began having these pains in her side. never once thought she was pregnant...SURPRISE!!!!

needless to say...after her DD was born, she had her tubes tied...

keep us posted!

YES you can! A guy that works for my DH has an 11-month old to prove it......

My parents had another child also after my dad had his surgery, 8 years later to be exact, but we aren't sure it is my dad's son to be blunt. The other couple is positive the baby belongs to the DH.

If you are stressed out really bad, for any reason, that could be the cause of your being late. I had that happen to me twice in between my two pregnancies, and one time I was so convinced that I was even having "symptoms"--morning sickness, tired, headaches, etc.

I hope things calm down and you get the answer that you want.

Steph

When my DH has his done after our DD was born, we were told that it can happen. He really should have gone for both tests, since who knows what it would have said. I would go and get a HPT, if nothing else to put your mind at ease. Please let us know how it goes!

Two good friends ended up pregnant after a partner's vasectomy.

You can get pregnant regardless of which one of you had the operation. It's just more frequent to get pregnant after a man has a vasectomy than it is for the tubal. With tubals, you have to watch out for ectopic pregnancies though.

I think it's more likely that you would have gotten pregnant a few years ago, but it's always possible as long as all of the necessary parts are still there.

Remember that if you're late, it will be because you ovulated late (or not at all). That would have been approximately 2 weeks before you expected your monthly visitor. If you were stressed, sick, traveling, or whatever a little over 2 weeks ago, it's extremely possible that that's all it is. Once you've ovulated, you WILL start your period roughly 12-16 days later unless you're pregnant. So you can be fine right now and still be late because of something that happened previously.

It would be unlikely in the extreme, especially if you verified the operation was successful, as one would assume you would.

Go get a test. In 3 minutes you'll ease your mind and take off the added stress, which surely isn't helping.

In 3 minutes....LOL ;)

It certainly wouldn't hurt to go get a HPT and get the results. If you are pg then 5 days late should be enough for any of em to give you a positive result.

But you may not be pg. You may just be experiencing a normal occurence of what's called an Anovulatory cycle. Once we hit our 30s we actually start to ovulate less often. When you have one of those cycles then your uterine will just keep building up till it can't anymore, and then start your period. Its not really considered perimenopausal, just a normal occurence. but if this doesn't ease your mind, then go get a test and see how it turns out. I have to admit, if i were 5 days late I'd be buying a HPT even if my Dh were snipped.

GL, and let us know

I've heard of it happening before too! I am still very regular even at 40. I've had my tubes tied but if I was 5 days late, I would be at the store buying a test! (actually have had to do that a couple of times ;)

Go get a test and ease you mind....but come back and tell us right away! NOW GO!!!! :teeth:

Test??? :earseek:

You mean you are supposed to go back for a test????

I figured that if my operation didn't take, that I wasn't going to to through it again. Once was enough. So no test.

You took a pregnancy test?;)

sha_lyn - Thanks for that link . . .I had no idea that was discussed before . . . .WOW, I cannot believe how many women got pregnant after their husband had the operation.
:earseek:

I am not going to buy an hpt just yet . . .I'm going to wait until the end of the week . . .I'm going to try to wait anyhow . . .

Of course I will post as soon as something happens . . .

Miss Cleo should be able to tell you. Maybe you could ask. :)

I saw the posts with Miss Cleo . . .hmmmmmmmm

Wonder if she is reading this . . . .

Although I wouldn't count on her prediction 100%.

My DH was tested twice and came back negative both times. Two years later nonetheless, I was pregnant with Gabrielle. Then Olivia. :D We were/are quite happy about it, t hough.
