We purchased our flight for Dec with SW points. The flights have since gone down. Is there anyway to get the difference in points back? Do you have to rebook? or can you just not do that. I'm very happy that we were able to get the flights free because of my husbands job he flies a lot. I just wondered if possible it would be worth getting some of the points back.

Thanks for the info.

I have done it as well. Just pull up your reservation and hit "change" then pick your exact same flights and it will show you what the points credit will be. And those points do not expire like the travel credit does when you pay for a flight.

yes I did it this morning:cool1: change the flight to the one you want, and it shows up instantly

You don't even hae to cancel and rebook. As mentioned, you can just change your reservation and the points are adjusted. I seem to do this at least once on every trip, when price (points or cash) drops.

I love Southwest for having this flexibility.
