Can you get off the @#%&!!& phone for 5 minutes????

There really must be something wrong with me because I totally don't get this obsession with having to have a phone in your ear at all times In fact, it really bugs the heck out of me. Tonight I was at the bank at the teller window and a woman comes up next to me after just making a call and is trying to conduct her bank business.The poor teller had to wait until she could speak every couple of seconds to be able to help her. It's so rude to me. What on earth could be that important (I could tell that it was an inconsequential conversation) that it couldn't wait five minutes until she was done with her banking???? I really don't get it. The other night I was in a Hallmark store and this woman was having a very animated conversation with a friend she obviously hadn't spoken to in quite awhile. She kept somehow standing in front of the cards I wanted to look at all the while laughing, gesturing, talking loudly. PLEASE--I mean REALLY--must you have this conversation in PUBLIC????? Why do people do this?

i cant stand it either!!!!! especially in the supermarker. Give me a break, get OFF the phone , talk to the cashier and pay her. Then go out and talk, talk, talk................i hate it really...............its so rude....

LOL--I know. Who in their right mind wants to hear all these minute details???? My DH drives me crazy sometimes cuz he'll call me just because he can't make a decision. Reminds me of the commercial where the guy keeps calling his wife in the grocery store for every little thing and when he gets up to the register and the cashier asks "paper or plastic", he gets this blank look and has to call the wife once again. Make a freakin' decision!

I think that's a man thing. The indecision thing. I find it's especially true for household chores but seriously "PUT THE PHONE DOWN!" We survived without cell phones for many years it was perfectly fine.

Perhaps it may just be a DH thing. The man calls me to ask if I want chicken breasts or chicken thighs after standing in the aisle for 15 minutes trying to decide. Food is very serious business to him.

I don't "get" why people talk on their phone in front of strangers. I overhear things I shouldn't know about and sometimes feel embarrassed for overhearing personal conversations, but...I'm not getting out of a bank or grocery store line so that person can have privacy. I just grit my teeth that they make other people around them uncomfortable but try to look "unaware" of what's going on.

When my phone rings and I'm out in public, I quickly look to see if it's my mom, and if not, the person gets phoned back as soon as I'm alone. My mom is elderly and rarely phones anyone, so I'd immediately step away from activity to take her call. Yes, step away for privacy.

speaking for the other gender I am disgusted when the same occurs in the men's restroom. I've actually listed to guys walk in , "tap a kidney" , and walk out while carrying on a phone conversation the entire time. I feel sorry for the person on the other end of the call - did he think so little of him/her that he gave what he was doing during the call no thought.

I hate the bluetooth contraptions even more. Yes, I have one for my car but it stays in my car. I will stay in my car to finish that conversation. I run into a lot of people that appear to be talking to you only to have them point at their head and give you a dirty look should you have the gall to answer them .

I really don't get the whole cell phone thing. I really can't stand it when I am walking down the aisle in a store someone is coming the other direction looking right at me and talking, then when I close to respond I see they are on a bluetooth My BFF and her hubby call each other at least 4 or 5 times durning the day and I have to ask her what do you have left to talk about when you get home at night? That seems nuts to me

DH and I have one cell phone, a pay as you go type that we got for when we are traveling, we have to top it up with $20 every couple months to keep our number, right now we have $150 in minutes on it, that is how much we use it.

And I can't count how many times I've seen people walk to their cars, start them and then make a phone call as they're trying to back out of a parking space. Why do you need to be on the phone so often????? Seriously. I'm also always amazed when I see people talking on their phones while driving to work. Who are you talking to at 7 a.m.??

I've had patients talking on their cell phones while I'm trying to examine them. And I'm not talking about conversations like, "I was in a horrible accident and I'm at the hospital". No, never that. It's the "what-cha doing tonight? Word?" convo's I'm talking about. I just walk out and try back later. It's ridiculous.

And I too can't believe some of the conversations people have in public. I was in a target a few months ago and some guy 2 aisles over was cursing in a rather loud voice about some furniture that needed to be moved in his house or he was gonna kick their you know whats. Apparently he was upset with some company and didn't like when they told him no. People were walking by and he was still going at it. I feel sorry for his family if that 10 minute behavior was anything like his home life.
