I read on the Discovery Cove Website that you can get into Sea World for Free either before or after the Dolphin Swim.
Can you go before AND after. Say you swim on Wednesday, can you go to SeaWorld on Tues and Thurs?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but for $199 per person, I don't want to take any chances. I will probably call in the moring to check. Thanks.

Yes; before and/or after. I was told that if you go before your day at DC will count as one of your 7 days at Sea World but that will most likely not make any difference. Most people do not use 7 days at SW. We went before and after with no problems. Have fun!!

We went the night before as well, no problems.. and we went 4/5 times total..

We had to bring the confirmation page, and picture ID with us the first night, and then after that, we had the Discovery Cove lanyard they give you to use for your admission.

I know its a seven day limit, I bet you could do seven days prior to the swim, or seven days after, or a combination of that as well.. say 4 days before/3 after, whatever.

Thanks for confirming this.
Hubby and I thought that was the case.

It gives us a few more planning options.

How do you get your tickets for Seaworld before you go to DC?

We are going on April 12th. The tickets for DC should be with us in th UK about 10 days before.

Do you need to go to DC to get Seaworld entry before?

Just take your confirmation letter for your DC visit to Sea World for your admission. No need to visit DC first.

I just did this two weeks ago. I showed the confirmation letter at SW the day before, and had no problems getting in at all.

I just booked DC. I am still alittle confussed about the 7 day thing.I am planning to go to DC on June 1. I would like to do SW on Monday May 26 which is 7 days before. Is that OK? Thanks..amy

Hi Corvair,

Your able to go to Sea World 7 days before or 7 days after DC or a combination of before and after. As long as it is within 7 days your fine. When you get to Sea World just go to guest relations with your confirmation from Discovery Cove and they will give you your passes for the day. At least that is how it worked for us in December. Wish I were there today.

HI, Just something to consider, but when we went to DC in 2001, we did DC first, then spent the next day at SW, but if I had it to do over, I'd definitely go to SW first, then DC. We had an absolutely delightful day at DC, and our daughters loved the dolphin swim. So did I! Then when we went to SW, they weren't all that excited about visiting the dolphin area. They felt that just being able to look at the dolphins was not very thrilling compared to swimming with them. I'm not sayng that they didn't enjoy seeing the dolphins, but it just couldn't compare to actually being in the water with them. I think if we had gone to SW first and spent time watching the dolphins, it would have been more fun knowing that the next day we were going to swim with them. Just a thought. By the way, anyone who has the chance to go to DC and do the dolphin swim, do it! It was one of the most memorable things we've ever done on a vacation.

Does the same hold true for Busch Gardens? Can you go prior to your day at Discovery Cove? How do you do it?

you can go before and after just like with seaworld (although when we bought ours if you included busch gardens as well you had 14 days of visits to use): we actually went after which meant we could put our discovery cove id through the turnstiles, but at SW they said that if we wanted to go, all we needed to do was show the letter at guest relations by the BG entry turnstiles and that would be fine. By the way, if you're going to Busch Gardens, and you like giraffes, I do recommend the serengeti safari - it's about $38 but you get to stroke and feed one, we have some amazing photos.

My travel agent is in the process of getting tickets for us for Discovery Cove and Seaworld. I know there is a daily limit of 1,000 at D.C. and I am hoping we will have no problem. But, does anyone think we will have a problem at this stage getting tickets? We will be in Orlando during the summer.

That is a really really really useful tip about visiting SeaWorld before Discovery Cove, thanks, I will schedule that into our holiday plan. I wouldn't really have thought of that one myself!

I thiink u should be ok getting tix through your travel agent as I think most of the ticket agents probably buy/reserve blocks from the various parks to sell to their customers we used airtours and had no problems getting the date we wanted although they wouldn,t let us upgrade to the 14 days access to SW &BG but after emailing DC to inquire if we could upgrade in Orlando they replied back that it would be okay just to take our tickets etc to SW or DC to pay $30 each plus tax to upgrade very helpful

To use the free sw tickets, do you have to show id, three of us may be doing dc in April but have no interest in sw as we were just there last year. would i be able to give my mom and sister (who are not doing dc) two of my sw tickets to use?

I believe you must show a confirmation letter + ID if you do it before DC and you are given lanyards with photo IDS for entry into the park.

They are not transferrable.

We are going to Orlando in May 2006. Should I be booking for discovery cove now? Do they take bookings over a year in advance?

Also, my daughter will be 12. Do you think she would be happier if her dad went in the water with her for the dolphin swim? Thanks. :Pinkbounc

Thank you all! Going to DC on 4/30 as a 1yr anniverysary w/ DH- we were married at the Swan last year and b/c we had family with us we couldn't squeeze in DC then. I wanted to do SW the day before but wasn't sure how-this is great. Hoping to convince DH to add an overnight at the Swan to our stay.... :cheer2:

I'm a bit confused on the "7 day" thing. I thought you get 1 park admission per DC admission in a 14 day window (7 days before to 7 days after). But the more I read it seems you can visit SW every one of those 14 days? Or do you visit SW for 7 consecutive days EITHER befor or After?

For example; 7 days before we are scheduled for DC, colud we visit SW every day for 7 days?
