Hi,
We will be going on our first trip to Universal/IOA for a few days after we get off our cruise ship on Sat. 9/1. We would like to go to one of the parks on check in day. I realize rooms are usually not ready until later in the day. Can we go to the onsite hotel and get our express passes early? From what I've read, it's your room key, so would it be possible to have this express pass early?
Thanks in advance!

you can check in early but your room might not be available for you to move into it.

once you check in, you will recieve the hotel key cards for everyone in your group.

that is what you will use for using the express lines.
show your room key.
each person.

check your belongings with valet.
then head for the park.

you can recieve a text or a call from the front desk to tell you your room number once the room is ready.
you do not have to go to the front desk as your key will be programmed once assigned.

the earliest i have check in has been 6:30 am.
the front desk is manned 24 hours.

if you do not see someone at the counter, yell and they will come.
they have cameras so they can see when someone is waiting.

once you have checked in you are good to go for the early entry and express lines.

btw, the hotels are in the process for setting up a new system for hotel guests for using the express lines at the parks.

kiosk type of set up for a photo id that you make on your own.
eventually, hotel guests will be showing their hotel id for express line usage.

these machines are to be set up in each hotel and park.

you're gonna feel like you are having 2 different vacations.

you do the cruise and then you do the darkside.

have fun on both adventures!

i have been doing the motherland/disney since 1974 and the darkside/universal since 1993

each time i go on my yearly trip to orlando, i stay at both resorts.

and it seems like i'm having 2 vacations.

We did this at hrh last week.
We checked in around 8 a.m. They held our bags, and we went to the parks.
