If they even have free dining this year, that is. ;) LOL

Can you get both or just one of the discounts?

Gotta pick one or the other. Disney doesn't allow you to stack discounts.

Good question, though!

Thanks! I was pretty sure of that, but I wanted to double check with the "experts". :thumbsup2

I believe that in this instance that is incorrect - this is probably the only instance that it makes sense to book through AAA, as they still give the room discount as well as the the free dining, and no one else, including Disney, is allowed to do that. We had our package with free dining and the room discount through AAA last September.

You are not allowed to stack discounts. AAA agents can book you with the free dining, but you cannot get the AAA discount off the room portion of your package and free dining at the same time. Some agents do not realize this themselves, which causes confusion, but you cannot do both at the same time. Disney won't allow it.

From the 2007 Free Dining offer fine print..
This offer requires a 3 night minimum stay – max 14 nights. Offer available most nights 8/26/07 – 9/22/07. The number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited. Jr & Child rates apply only when adult occupies the room. Theme Park tickets are for one theme park per day and must be used within 14 days of use. No group rates or other discounts apply.

I really think that some AAA agents believe they are getting both the AAA discount AND free dining combined. That's where the misinformation comes from.

On the other hand, if you book with AAA, you do get the perks like Storytime and parking and discount on shopping at Downtown Disney if those things matter to you.

I completely agree. I don't think its intentional deception.

Disney vacation booking is a very complicated business. There are lots of rules and exceptions to those rules. You really probably could earn a four year degree in just Disney vacation planning and never really learn it all ! :)

Sorry, but I had it last fall 20% off rack rate AAA discount plus free dining. I compared it directly with best deal that WDW could give me versus AAA. And I don't believe that to be a mistake, as I have read in one of the guidebooks or here on online that AAA is the only one that WDW allows to do this, as a perk because of the volume of reservations that they book. And this was not what the AAA agent told me - she barely knew how to spell Disney, and she is the reason why I will book this year's trip (which does not involve a presumed free-dining plan time) on my own. Other than the price, I was not impressed.
