Can you get beer in the market at the BW?

We usually rent a car and get groceries on the way in. This time we're trying DME. I know there is a small market at the BW. Can you get a six- or twelve- pack of beer? Any idea of the cost?

Also, botlled water?

Pretty high.

If I remeber correctly the last 6 pack I bought ran me about 13 bucks or so.

Cheaper then renting a car or cab if you are just wanting to buy one or two things.

If you need a few you may want to rent a economy car at the Swan just for the day.

Short answer: Yes, you can get beer at the Screen Door in BWV. Cost is lower than in USVI (which is not suprising as just about everywhere is cheaper than in USVI), but more than at the local megamart or upstate. It's not outrageously expensive, and there is a modest but decent selection of brands; the price differential is made up for by the convenience of being able to buy it right there.

If you want a better price, but a bit of a schlep (at least with heavy beer crates) there is a Hess gas station/ kwiky-mart type place behind the Boardwalk where things might be a little cheaper. But you'd still have to carry it all back to the room afterward.

Thanks for you replies. $13 for a sixpack is probably above DH's threshold! Actually it's cheaper than that in St Thomas! Will let DH make the call on this one- I'm considering a delivery service like wegoshop for a few staples, breakfast items, beer, soda and water, but since we don't need much maybe we'll use the Screen Door instead.

Just make sure that you buy six beers and get the correct price. When we were there in August, DH & DBil went down and bought some beer. The cashier originally rang up the beers individually and the price was over $30 for six Coronas. There's a special key on the cash register or a code they type in to get the six pack price. I think the six pack price for the Coronas came out to be around $15 total.

the hess sells beer,coke,krespie kream donuts plus outher food stuff.Think a 12 pack of beer $16.00(or less).Worth the walk from BWV

I don't know the price of a 6-pack, but it is cheaper to buy a can of beer at the Screen Door than it is to buy a beer at the poolside bar.

The Hess station at the Auto Center near MK is going to be closed for a while but, I believe all the others are still open.

We walked to the Hess station and brought the stuff back, it's about a 5 min. walk tops. If you walk out the front entrance of BW , keep the main entrance to your back and keep walking straight.... over the white bridge, and past the guard shack, across the street (no sidewalks so be careful), that's the quickest way.

If you ask the BW people , they will send you the loooonnnng way to keep you on sidewalks.

or grab a cab for $5- and get water, beer, soda , etc.

water was on sale the last time I was there for 3.99 a twelve pack, 2.99 12 pack of coke, and beer was like 10- for a 12 pack of Mich ultra bottles and a 6 pack of Mike's Lemonade was 7-
