Can you get adjoining roomettes on the auto train?

Hi Everyone,
I tried to search but couldn't seem to find my answer. On one of our legs the price of the bedrooms is too high so I was going to get two roomettes but still wanted to be close to my family. Is it possible to jet adjoining roomettes on the auto train?

You may be able to get them next to each other, but If you are looking for a door that goes between I don't think so.

I did a ton of Autotrain research before our last family trip and never heard of them.

No, the rooms are barely big enough for two people, no room for a connecting doorway.

Thanks for the quick replies. I would be okay if they were next to each other. I could have myself and my DS in one room and my DH and DD in the other.

We booked the autotrain a few months ago for our upcoming trip in August.

We also have 2 roomettes but when we first reserved we didn't think to ask that the rooms be next to each other, I would have assumed so. When we recieved the confirmation email, I had to call back and ask to have 2 rooms next to each other. The resevationist said good thing I picked up on that as if I had waited until the day of the train I probably wouldn't get my request.

Request two roomettes, on the lower level, across the hall from each other. The hall is narrow enough that you can chat and keep an eye on each other, with a lower level room there will be minimal number of people walking by.

You will get specific roomette(s) assigned to you. For example "Car 5235, room 14."
