Can you get a retired state employee discount at s/d

I was wondering if you can get a retired state employee discount at the swan or dolphin? Which discount would be better? AAA or AARP. Do they have discount codes or different discounts during the year like the other disney resorts? Which is better for adults? We just got back from Disney and I wish I had taken the time to look at these two resorts!! Some people say you can get a better rate at the Swan Dolphin than the other Disney resorts but when looking at their room rates they seem higher than the Wilderness lodge where we usually stay. that is a good question. I have never seen that question come up.. the site doesn't really state the answer either.. just says government employee. Actually, the same goes for any hotel that offers it, not just S&D. Do you have a current valid Government issued ID card?
