what's the trick to the "grid" at the top of the ladder?

You need 4 roman numerals and a deep blue gem. You get it from your venus fly trap now that it's in the sun. one is on the lever to the right when you, one is on the windmill blade, but you have to pull the lever to stop the windmill to see it. The third is on the back of a gear you pull out of a gray door next to the door to the interior. The 4th you have to climb the ladder to the keypad then click the up arrow to look up. The windmill MUST be running, as the blades come around you will see another number.

Put the dark blue gem into the seer box and it will tell you the order to input the numbers...hint...the first and last number are the same so you will click it then unclick it. The third page in the book tells you how the numbers are laid out on the keypad.

Then hit the buttons in the pattern of the Sketchbook .

you get the numbers from

base of handle (half circle)
Gold gear (view it then click to rotate it)
Windmill blade (stop with handle then walk to it)
hex is just 6 but it you start the windmill back up and go back t the top of the ladder it will show up.

Now with the code you should be able to press the numbers and then unpress one of them as it repeats giving you just 3 pressed.

i have both parts of the broken gear.

Now go back outside, take out the gold gear, go up to the top put in the broken gear and go back inside and put the gold gear into the wall where you got the wrench. If the windmill is running you will have to stop it to put the gear in. Then turn it back on, go inside and grab the key that is on one of the grey gears.
 
Yeesh, I finally finished it! :thumbsup2 I had a slight interruption when I had to work. :laughing:
 
Where did you find both parts of the gear??? I could only fing the small part on the balcony! HELP!!!

Ok when you are outside and you open up the door with the keypad for the first time there is a key...grab it and when you go back inside in the locked drawer above the compass puzzle there is the other part of the gear.

Ok - I am stuck here.

My lever has a IV on it (4), my windmill has a IX (9) on it. My hexagon has a V (5) on it, and my semi has a I (1) onit. So, my numbers should be 95419, right? And the pattern should be middle, bottom right, middle right, top left, middle, right? I tried that and NOTHING.

HELP!! I have but 30 minutes left to solve this!

You also have to create a snail, snake, bird and man. None of the drawings will touch each other. Then put the marbles in the corresponding animal. Hint...the bird is the dark blue marble

you need to make 4 other animals... a snake, a person, bird and a snail.. when you are done use the marbles as head.. each color goes with a specific animal
 
Ok - so I entered it as 95149 instead of 95419 and it took. On to the next step..
