Can you find out what seating is avail BEFORE booking?

We are looking into about 3 different 7 night cruises and have checked online for prices. Since they are all the same in prices, I was wondering is there anyway we can check if the early seating is still available on them before we book? I would hate to have someone go thru all the trouble of booking one cruise and then ask them to rebook if we have to be on a waitlist for seating. I know there is a possibility we can change it once we board but I don't feel like for all the money we are spending, I should chance it. DD will just be turning 4 and I can't see her enjoying anypart of a late dinner - esp running around all day. She needs her sleep!!

Are you using the Disney cruise website to book your trip? If so, go through the motions of booking your cruise, select your dining preference and if it's available, it will go right through to the payment section. If it's not available, you'll get an error message when you click the "continue" button and it will read in red across the across the top. Otherwise, maybe you could call DCL and ask them to check the dates in question for you.

If you are using a travel agent tell them that you want to book a cruise but that you absolutely want first seating. Tell them the cruises you are interested in, giving them an order of preference. They should do this for you, no problem. I'm fairly sure that I was told that I got first seating right away. Keep in mind that one agency may be out of first seating while another is not for the same cruise. My brother and my cousin, each booked months before me through Disney and they couldn't get first seating. I went with an agency for the same cruise and got first seating right away. (My brother was also told by Disney and AAA that only category 4 was available for the cruise. I could get my choice of category through both Dreams Unlimited and AllSeasTravel for the same cruise.)
