I am new to this board and new to Disney!! My husband and I are hoping to visit in October 2005- my first trip, his 3rd. On these boards, I have seen many references to sky auction. Are the stays at the Vistana time shares trully rentals? Do you have to attend the time share demo? Aside from the fine print, is there anything else I should look out for? Thank you in advance for the help!!!

stays using skyauction usually do not require a timeshare tour, although they may ask you if you wish to do it when you check in

it is your choice if you want to do it.....but you are NOT under obligation to do a tour unless it clearly states in the auction...

right now the following have Vistana offerings

auction 967160

has October 21, 28, 29, 2005 open for a 2 bedroom

auction 967280

has October 29, 2005 2 bedroom upgrade for 6 for 100$ extra open

has October 28, 29, 2005 2 bedroom upgrade for 8 for 125$ extra open

the other two auctions offering Vistana are not in the October date range....

Hi - There are no hidden catches with Sky Auction. We used them twice last year to stay at ORange Lake resort for $261 for a week for a two bedroom villa. It was a tremendous deal.

The best deals are through their "Ready Set Go" Auctions. Just click on search...type in the word "ready" and follow it from there. You will just enter your destination...Orlando....time frame you can travel in and size of unit and it will search to see if there is any availability at that time. Lately I haven't seen much availability, but it does change all the time so you can always keep trying.

The one thing I do know about Vistana is there are older sections. Not sure if this is what you would be given if you stayed there through SkyAuction. I imagine you can always request a newer section and see what happens. Others on this board will probably have more and better advice on Vistana Resort than I do. I've only stayed at the Vistana Villages not the resort.

Hope this helps you.

unfortunately the better resorts like Orange Lake and HGVC are not showing up on skyauction anymore

we should all enjoy what they offer while we can....

RCI and/or developers seem to have taken what owners were saying when they complained about non-owners getting good deals on skyauction thus the inventory is not as great as it once was....

RSG auctions as stated offer the best "value" for your $$ if you can get a 2 bedroom at a "fair to good" resort at a price of 260$ for the week

they usually top out at the 50$ range as far as auctions go, and sometimes when it gets to that plateau, they add in more quantity
