As the title states, could I just turn up at Hotel Cheyenne, for example, and have a buffet meal without actually staying as a guest at any of the Disney Hotels?

For any meal at any hotel except breakfast, yes you can.
You don't have to be a guest at the hotel.

Along with going to the bar for a drink :) It is a great way to see the hotels within the resort.

The only exeption to this is Christmas and New Years Eve. During this days you can only have dinner at the hotel you are staying at.

In our brochures, they make publicity for these dinners, but don't say you can only eat there if you're staying at the hotel...

In the previous UK brochure it stated this but in the newest one it doesn't. :confused3 Perhaps because there's only a very small section mentioning the Christmas/New Year dinners which are for 2007, it advises guests to phone for details, perhaps because they were expecting most of the places to have been reserved by the time the brochure was released.

I guess there will be a bigger section on the dinners in the next brochure and I assume they'll print this rule again then.
