Hojo, Desert Inn & Suites, Desert Palm & Suites...

We stayed at DI&S in '08 - it was great for what we needed which is a seperate room for the kids & an easy walk to the park.

Can anyone compare these...why did you like one more than the other?

Is there a site that allows you to comapre the hotels?

What are you trying to compare? there all places to sleep and shower.

Hojo for the entertainment rate is a great rate book it if you get that rate

Desert inn is great location stayed here the most clean and a place to shower and sleep.

Never stayed in the other one

I've stayed at Desert Palms and HoJo. From what I've researched about Desert Inn and Suites (DI&S lol), I think it's the most expensive, has the least nice rooms, but is the closest to the parks and has decent suites available.

Anyway, HoJo had really great rooms and there are tons of places to get discounts. Entertainment rate is an obvious choice, or AP or Mousesavers discounts can get you a room at a very good price. Also, it has the best pool for kids other than the onsite places. The pirate sprayground really is great if you have young ones. The walk wasn't bad (ART is offered, but you don't need it IMO). 8 minutes in the morning (we timed it). But no breakfast, so I'd recommend bringing some snacks for the morning.

Desert Palms was ok. The rooms were average. There's an indoor pool if you're going during the winter. There is breakfast, but if you are going during peak season and wanting to get there at park opening, I think the breakfast is too late (something like it starts at 7 or 8). The walk is a tad bit longer, but manageable. I wouldn't do that walk for little little kids day after day. They do have ART if you are interested. It's also really convenient to the 7-11 if you want to grab some snacks or waters or coffee.

You probably know this already, but if you need a seperate room for the kids, the HOJO has new pirate kids suites, so the kids would have their own room with bunkbeds, a love seat that folds out into a twin bed, and their own bathroom. The other part of the suite (parents side) has a pillow top king bed, bathroom, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Both rooms have new flat-screen televisions.

And like DLR29 said, the HOJO has Castaway Cove, a water play area with slides, pirate ship, huge dumping bucket, spray cannons, etc....and a hot tub for the parents to relax in while watching their kids. There is also a nice large garden pool over by building 2, and they are going to add a waterfall hot tub in the garden pool area sometime soon.

The Entertainment Book rate for the pirate kid suite is $99 plus tax per night.....it's not offered all the time, like during the busy season, but it is offered quite often, which is really great. :thumbsup2
