Can you check on where you are on the wait list?

We're on a waitlist for a bigger unit during the first week of November. If you call member services, are they able to tell you where you are on the waitlist - i.e., 2nd on the list, 7th on the list, or 22nd on the list.

I am not exactly sure about where you stand on the wait list. Just reading through though, others suggested calling a week before your stay to double check if anything opened up.

No, they will not tell you.

Note that the waitlist is wiped-out 30 days before the check-in date, so call back and have yourself put on the new waitlist.

I don't think they could tell you with any degree of accuracy even if the policy permitted it - it's a complicated system.

Some people are on the waitlist for their entire stay, some for a single day. Requests overlap, so it is very tough to know if/when your request might come through.

The best chance of getting something is to accept single days as they become available. Of course, that means you may end up moving a lot during your stay. If you are waitlisted for your entire stay, you would not get your request unless all the days become available at the same time. DVC will not "hold" days for you. So if you are waiting for a 5 day stay and 1 or 2 days come available, they would go to someone else who only wanted those days.

Under those circumstances, it would be almost impossible to tell you "what number you are on the waitlist".

Best wishes - hope your request comes through.
