Can you change price if code comes out on AAA package?

I keep hearing everyone talk about how they make reservations for Disney hotels and then wait to see if codes come out and get a better rate.

I booked a package through AAA with a TA for this Aug. (value season) and I am wondering if anyone knows if you can get a better rate this way if a code comes out later?

I'd like to know this too. I booked a package for friends of mine for December and was wondering the same thing. And when would these come out?

We had booked an August 2004 trip (package) last February through a AAA TA. When the 7 for 5 deal which covered our dates was announced in May, we called our TA to see if the new rates could be applied. By day's end, we'd gotten our new quote!

We did track these boards to be sure we didn't miss the announcement date, and we did phone the TA just in case she was unaware. Since that time we did plan one more December trip, but this time through Dreams Unlimited. DU tracked and applied discount rates FOR us, just as they advertise, which was great since we were enjoying our summer Disney trip the day the new code/rates were announced!

Here's how I understand it...

I just booked a AAA discounted resort/package yesterday..I called WDWTC and they gave me a price quote that was $250 more than AAA could...so she said I had to book through AAA. So AAA called WDWTC and booked the same package for a little less...I told her I was hoping for a discount for the room...and how would I go about getting it? She said I would have to book my trip directly through WDWTC with the code (can't do the package with dining if you do this..but generally you save more money) then cancel their reservation...you must cancel outside of the 45 days of travel or you get penalized $50-$100....so the key is getting that code before that 45 period.

I hope I didn't confuse anyone...but you can't apply a discount code to a AAA discounted room/package...it's either or.

Absolutely! We did just this last summer. Of course they have to have rooms left that you can use the code with so act quickly! Good luck!
