Can you change price if code comes out on AAA package?

I keep hearing everyone talk about how they make reservations for Disney hotels and then wait to see if codes come out and get a better rate.

I booked a package through AAA with a TA for this Aug. (value season) and I am wondering if anyone knows if you can get a better rate this way if a code comes out later?

I don't know about Disney hotels but I was able to do it last year with the Swan. I had booked the trip with a AAA discount and then got another code applied about a month before I was scheduled to leave and they applied it.

I think better rates come out for those with room only reservations. I don't think they will be offering discounts on packages.

I agree as mine was a room only reservation as well.

AAA doesn't give out codes, they just have their standard rack rate. You can come to these boards and find codes from whatever all of us find out.

I booked a AAA package last week for room (with AAA discount), MYW tickets and dining plan. The agent assured me that if I saw a code for the same room at a lower rate that could be combined with my package and let her know that she would be happy to have the room rate changed.

I have no way of knowing what codes (if any) will be available for our November trip and if they will be able to be combined with the package, but this way I at least got the AAA room discount (15%...not great, but better than nothing).

This agent seemed pretty knowledgeable. She told me she had been able to change a MYW package with dining to a "slightly cheaper" room code for a family in January because they got a postcard with a special rate and it saved them about $85 on their trip. (no idea what resort or how many nights)

So the answer to the OP's question would be "yes, if...."
If a rate code is available and
If the code is one that can be combined with packages.

Then your AAA agent can change your reservation and lower your rate. She did tell me that she doesn't do the research....if I want the discount I have to find the code and call her.
