Can you change a secondary name on your reservations and still get free dining?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but here goes.......

I and my DS have 8 nights booked in September at AKL with free dining. He is currently looking at the possibility of being hired for a new job. If he gets the job he won't be able to get the time off in September to go on the trip. He'll know for sure on Wednesday and I have to make the final payment by Saturday.

At first, I was just thinking of cutting the trip down to 4 nights and going by myself. However, I have a friend that lives about 3 hours away from Orlando. I'm just wondering if she came along instead of my son if there would be an issue at check-in??? Would she be able to pick up the free dining that was originally reserved in my son's name? The reservations for everything, hotel, ADR's, etc. are in my name. Any ideas??

You should be fine. We just changed a name on a package we have booked in Dec with an expired pin code. It took them some time but they were able to do it.

Even at check in since it's the same (adult to adult) I think you are fine. Worse case you check you both in and she just uses the pass. It's not like they have a name on the cards.

I have the exact same situation. DH could have a new job by next week, and, of course, he could not go in September. :sad1: I thought of taking my DMom. It has been hard year for both of us (my DDad passed away in December). Since DH hasn't found out yet, I have been waiting to decide what to do. Final payment due for us next week, while we are out-of-town at my grandparents (2000 miles away). Does life ever slow down??

Catrinabeach - Our room keys/tickets for a package have always had our names on them. Unless I am missing something.

Good luck! :wizard: Let us know how things work out!

I called and made my final payment today. I trimmed the reservations down to 5 nights from 8 and asked a multitude of questions about varying scenarios. The answer is , as long as there's no change to the primary name on the reservation you can change other names as you please. She said it was a good idea to call ahead though to do it and not wait until your standing at the desk checking in.
