can you buy room upgrades?

I thought I read somewhere that for an extra $35 or $50 per night you could get a room upgrade at one if the onsite resorts. Does anyone know if this is possible? We've booked 2 rooms at RPR and got a loews platinum upgrade on one, but I'd like to upgrade the other room as well. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Well, sort of.

First of all, it is not a guaranteed upgrade.

One member registered in the room would need to be Loews Gold. That way, a premium room is guaranteed if available at reservation.

The $35.00 upgrade is for a Loews Gold member to upgrade to a suite at check-in, if a suite is available.

So, no guaranteed buying of upgrades, just if available at check-in if one of your guests in the 2nd room is Loews Gold.
