This might be a silly question, but can you buy funky little Disney tops in DisneyWorld?

Because I really want to buy a cute Mickey top, or a Tinkerbell top... but without it saying "DISNEYWORLD 2006" down the bottom.

You know what I mean!?!

I suppose I'm saying, can you just buy nice tops (for adults) without the big touristy writing all over them? Or more fitted styles, without it being just a square boxy t-shirt?

You know like the cool Mickey top that Sarah Jessica Parker used to wear on Sex & The City?

I'm a bit embarrassed now!

i don't know about buying those kind of tops at disneyworld, but i bought one off ebay. it is very cute, not boxy. it is the 'baby doll' style. they also have the vintage 'ringer' tshirts that are usually gray with a dark blue ring around each sleeve and the neck.

Yes, I'm positive I saw some in Main St USA. They really were beautiful, fitted t-shirts with Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty on them. I really regret not buying them actually!
I'm sure you will find something you'd like, especially if you go to Downtown Disney.

Yes you can buy many tops that dont have the logos on them. It will just have a WDW tag. I have a bunch of baby doll t-shirts and strappy tank tops. All the parks have different shirts. So if you see one you want at MGM they may not have it at MK.

World of Disney at DTD has a very large selection of shirts also.

They have a wonderful selection of non-traditional shirts IMO. I got a black baby doll styled tee with silver glitter design from the Magic Kingdom and they had other styles. I seem to remember tees with Mickey in sequins at the RnR gift shop, but I may be wrong.

Wow! All the way from Australia? Cool! :sunny:
Sure, you can get really cute shirts in each of the countries in Epcot. A Viking ship shirt in Norway, an Eiffel Tower in France, a Union Jack in UK, etc.
I love the villian shirts in MGM at the Villian's shop. My favorite is black and says, Wicked Queen! Every ride seems to have themed shirts in the giftshops now. These are cute, fitted, girly shirts. princess:

hey! A bunch of celebs are now wearing the Disney Couture stuff. If you can't find what you're looking for in the parks or at DTD, you'll be able to find it in a hot topic or torrid store if you get a chance to visit a mall while you're in the USA! I have a ton of cute shirts from there. Some of the cute ones I have from DTD are like "Queen of Hearts" from The World of Disney store, and "Heartbreaker" with Jessica Rabbit on it. It's sweet stuff! Good luck finding what you're looking for! :teeth:

I bought a really neat white cotton shirt with a "glittery" Mickey Mouse on it
in the gift shop at AK. Short-sleeve and all white with the traditional Mickey colors (red/black)(Mickey was in the glitter). And the glitter was not tacky looking at all. I got allot of nice comments on the top. I saw them everywhere after I bought it at the Lodge Gift Shop.

I also bought a pair of cotton khaki capris, with the drawstrings around the waist and the drawstrings around each leg and a tiny little red mickey on the wasitband. The whole outfit was adorable.

I wore it on my DCL Cruise.

:goodvibes Hi Aussie,
I bought the cutest shirt in DTD it said "I like my boyfriend but I love Mickey". If you are looking for shirts before you go down there to wear, they have some really cute shirts in Sears... but I dont know if they have Sears in Australia! :confused3

I was just at Disney and they aren't cheap, but I did notice a pretty good selection of the funky Disney tops you are talking about. Mouse Gear at Epcot had quite a few and so did the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. The one top I looked at was a sparkly Mickey and I think it was $68. They had others though too, I just didn't look at all of them.

If you go to disneyshopping.com there is a small collection of them under
the "grown-ups" clothing section.

I also saw some made by Dolce & Gabana on ebay!

I saw lots of those tank tops with the thin straps that just had a small character etc on them - no WDW text. Some even had the built in bra. I'd go for those in a heartbeat if I wasn't Pooh sized!

I saw some really cute tees at World of Disney when I was there in January. They were the ultra-soft, almost silky feel tee shirts. They were pastel colors with almost a color-washed/tie-dyed look. They had Minnie & Tink that I remember for sure. They were fitted & were really cute. Only $28 too.

I bought this tee at Animal Kingdom on or about May 1st:

I always find mine at MGM at the last store on the left hand side of the main shopping strip. They have lots of cute shirts that aren't super touristy.

There are a couple stores at DTD, particularly the area closest and in Pleasure Island, that have pretty funky shirts and pj's in a more Couture style. They aren't cheap but are really cute.

Also, if you go to www.zazzle.com you can create your own.

Yes they are carrying more and more baby doll type shirts instead of the boxy old ones.

Yay!! :yay:

Thanks SO much everybody!! I'm so impressed that everybody knew what I meant! I thought I'd come across as a bit of a nutter, and nobody would know what I was asking for!

3 months today until we leave for USA! The two things I really want to buy while we're there are...

* a cute Mickey top
* a FDNY shirt

I don't know why! When I knew we were heading to Disneyworld and New York, they were the first things to pop into my head! So now I'm on a mission to find them!

Thanks again!

I agree with all the posters that the apparel Disney now sells has gotten much, much better, fashion-wise (even though they still sell the cute kids' stuff too).

Just another alternative - I can't speak to the quality because I've never ordered from them but you can pretty much put whatever you want on the shirts. I know they have ringer tees, not sure about "cuter" women's tops but it's worth a shot...
