Can you buy an individual LL for the hours before MNSSHP without park ticket that day?

We went to first party. Two of us had AP with reservations for that day and could have booked lightning lanes. But the third person dis not have any media for that day except a party ticket. He had a 4 day magic ticket that I didn’t make active until the day after the party (wasn’t taking any chances of accidentally using a regular day). I looked and we could not book him any lightning lanes for that day. The system did not have him as eligible. (We didn’t want to do any regardless I was just experimenting). Idk what the situation would have been if I had made his ticket good starting that day since we didn’t book them for every day BUT we did book multi and single passes for a MK day for him a few days later. I am guessing since he could only go to one park a day the system would only have allowed him to book one MK day anyway. It definitely did not allow booking only with a party ticket.

Ahh we have already confirmed that APs are not limited to after 2 PM. APs Guests do need to make a park reservation unless Disney has marked the day as Good to Go.

On non-good-to-go days APs without reservations are limited to return times after 2pm.

So you attended the MNSSHP on August 9th? When did you purchase your LLSP for Tron? Did you happen to purchase it along with LLMP selections at another park, maybe as a second LLSP?

What type of tickets were you using, Dated or Un-dated?

Bought the Tron one with almost all my others on the 7 days ahead window. I was not in a park that day before I entered MK around 430. Dated ticket as part of a package no park hopper option.

I feel like I do need to add and stress: I spoke to guest relations outside of Magic Kingdom before I entered the park (a plaid guest relations person specifically not a blue-shirted guest experience person) and they said it 'should work' but there was a definite chance the Mickey would go blue and I would either have to go to guest relations to get a refund (and yes they offered that unprompted) or I would have to exit MK and re-enter with a day ticket. I was completely aware of and willing to accept this not working.

I am not completely aware of what voodoo shadowman trickery allowed this to work. I had a nine-day package ticket. I had booked 8 days of some kind of LL (had 3 tron, 3 guardian, 1 FOP, 1 dwarves, 1 MK multi, 1 DHS multi, 1 Epcot multi).

And based on my experience with Tiana's and Tron during the 6 to 7pm window and later in the night I won't be doing it during the Christmas party because I ended up riding Tron 3 times that night and 2 would have been plenty.

Irrelevant to this year. People who only have party tickets and nothing else in their MDE this year have not been able to purchase ILLs.

Disney changed this in Jan 2024 therefore your 2023 experience is not what will happen in 2024.

To be fair, every time I've done a party only ticket. Officially you were not supposed to be able to get ILL or fastpasses (way back when) but I was always able to.

You could search this forum every year and find posters telling people they wouldn't be able to get FP or ILL and you could. Maybe this year may be different.

We have plenty of accurate data points for this year, bringing in old one just confusing people.

Yes, currently it sounds like if you ONLY have a party ticket then it will not let you PURCHASE any LLs.

However if you have an annual pass or other valid tickets and it DOES let you purchase because of those other tickets it looks like those purchased LLs WILL WORK based on what we heard above.

But it may not let you purchase LLs for a party day AND all of your ticket days if the total LLs exceeds total ticketed days since the poster above didn't book LLs every day of their ticket. We will see if anyone reports it, or maybe I will try as I get closer to my trip in mid October

Another data point - we have park hoppers with additional days to go. But yesterday we did not go to a park at all until the party. Had a 4:30 LLSP for Mine Train and got a green Mickey - no issues. Tickets show the correct number of days left.

Given the later rain, good to get it out of the way.

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I just purchased a multipass for our whole family who only has party tickets. I imagine is the worst case scenario is I get a refund since they allowed me to purchase. This was the only day it allowed me and only showed my friends with tickets as eligible.

Confirming you definitely do not have any other tickets linked to your account or Annual Passes? If you don’t, you are the first person to report being able to do this in 9 months. I’m hesitant to say Disney has changed this as many, many have not been allowed to purchase LLMP when they only have party tickets.

This is correct. Former passholder for 2/4 attendees (expired months ago), but only tickets to MNSSHP (and HHN!). No other park tickets for trip.

This is great news although we'll wait to see if others report the same as this loophole was closed in Jan 2024 and you are the first to be able to purchase with only a party ticket.

Agreed. I’ll report back after I go Friday. Relatedly, it would not let me book LL for any other park. Also, if it matters, MNSSHP tickets were bought from a third party.

It would help to have a few more details on your experience. What type of Smartphone are you using for MDE, Android or Apple?

What hours were you able to select for your 3 attraction return times?

Just clicked on the option in MDE on homepage of IPhone. Wanted Tiana’s but it wasn’t available, so I kept refreshing until it was available. Grabbed Tiana’s, HM and PotC between 4-6pm. After getting these I regretted not trying at 7am at the 7 day mark for my stay for better options.
