Can you buy a larger contract and sell part of it?

I have been looking for a small Boardwalk resale which is very hard to find. Can I buy a 150 point contract and sell 75 points?

No. Only Disney can split up an existing contract. You could only resell the entire 150 points.

But 150 is already pretty small. Buy it now ... and expect to embrace them. Those extra points will shift from "excess" to "how-would-I-ever-live-without-them!" pretty quickly. Really, open your heart and you'll soon love those extra points. ;)

And then those points will become; "I think we need another 100 points"...

Ok, so you've seen that the answer is no. But one more thing to keep in mind is that smaller contracts have a higher demand, so the prices are higher. Add in the fact that the closing costs are amortized over a smaller number of points, and the difference between direct and resale purchases narrows considerably.

My advice for a situation like this depends on what your risk tolerance is. If you have the disposable income for the initial purchase price, I would advise that you buy the 150 point contract, realize the savings that comes from buying more points, and rent out the points you don't use. Like I said, there is work involved and a certain element of risk, but if you educate yourself about the process and think it's acceptable, then I would go for it. In my mind, the difference in price per point between a 75 point contract and a 150 point contract makes it worthwhile. Crunch the numbers and see if you agree. :) Good luck!

Thank you, I thought only Disney could split a contract. We have 250 points and my husband thinks 400 is a lot of points. I am sure I could use them or rent them if necessary!
