Wondering if you can bring your own golf cart to FW. We have not brought our own trailer there yet, but have stayed at one of the cabin loops....many years ago. At that time we rented a golf cart, and really enjoyed the conveniece it offered being that the cabin loops were sort of away from the campground amenties. Recently we've purchased a used golf cart of our own, and would consider taking it with us when we finally get to visit the Fort..only I'm wondering if FW allows them or if you have to rent one of theirs?..and does it matter if it's gas or electric?

Lots of folks bring their own golf cart. It is allowed. I think they prefer electric. However, having said that, I have seen all kinds of carts including gas powered carts and even "gators" being used at Ft. Wilderness.

Just my person opinion, I wouldn't mind an ATV being driven around Ft. Wilderness in a responsible manner. An electric golf cart being driven like a fool is worse.

We where there 2 weeks ago and took are gas golf cart. Most campgrounds will let to bring them. It seems to be a war to see who have the nice cart you will see jacked up cart and some with beautiful airbrush paint jobs.

We are taking our electric cart in March '07. FW is why we bought it. :thumbsup2
