Can you bring your own food, drinks on cruises?

I bring snacks......nuts, bars and chocolate. Good for excursions. I am diabetic so like to have sweets I can have

When I sailed royal caribbean, you could have one do a soda package. It’s the alcohol where all in the room have to have it. Or at least all of legal age.
I should have been more specific. It was just me and my DH so we both had the have the alcohol package even though I don't drink. At the time we sailed, I had to also purchase the alcohol package because DH did.

Yeah that’s a lot of alcohol.

Go on the NCL fb page and ask! It is allowed Plus 2 bottles of wine per room, I WAS JUST THERE! People brought 12 pack of soda and some Brought 12 water.
You are confusing NCL and RCL, on NCL you could always bring as many bottles of wine as you wish, $15 a bottle. On RCL, it’s 2 bottles per cabin. On NCL, bringing on non alcoholic beverages is prohibited, policy in place for at least 6 years. On RCL you are allowed to bring on some non alcoholic beverages.

We brought a bottle of wine and some soda on Royal since it is allowed. DH and I don't drink much and don't drink soda, so did not buy the package. We had a six pack of Coke for the kids but they just mostly drank what was included. I had a Starbucks gift card so got my specialty coffees with that (we sailed on Allure). If you go to each cruise ship's FAQ it tells you what is prohibited. It is also probably on the Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line boards but it is sometimes easier to just Google.

I mean the very basic stuff, like peanut butter, crackers, candy and maybe some 12 packs of soda if I decide not to get the drink package.
Generally, yes and no.

Each cruise line has it's own policies as to what can be brought onboard.

Most cruise lines will allow "snack" type foods, as long as they are commercially prepared and sealed when boarding. No homemade goodies.

Some cruise lines allow a "reasonable" number of 12 pack of non-alcoholic beverages, some don't allow any.
