Can you bring Savi's Workshop / Lightsaber on the cruise

I went one a Star Wars Day at Sea cruise a few years ago and everything I found said no.

Here's what the DCL policy says about light sabers:

I don't know if DCL considers a Savi's light saber "store-bought".

Oh nooo my son really wants to do it and I have already paid

You can ship it home from the Droid Depot next door.

ETA: And if you're staying at Disney resort, as long as you have your receipt, I'm 99% sure you can ship it from the gift shop.

We are coming from Australia. Not sure if they ship it here and if they do the cost would probably outweigh the cost of the product

Hmmm...what are you doing post-cruise? Are you going straight to the airport or going to another resort?

Since a lightsaber is not a firearm and it’s not a real lightsaber - it can’t slice off an arm - I would put in my carryon (because it’s breakable) and take it with you. Keep it in the room.

It is store-bought if you get it at Disney.

I thought I would come back here to share my experience.
There were no issues at all I'm bringing the lightsaber on the cruise and it was also not an issue in bringing it as hand luggage on and international and domestic flight to Australia. Everyone seemed pretty across it even in Australia
