I haven't been to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in a few years. Are they allowing you to bring in outside food?

I used to have a stroller and it was easy to hide things but this trip it's going to be a smallish backpack. I would really like to bring in some sandwiches for lunch.

I always get to irritated with the food there. I don't really like it and the restaurants get so terribly crowded that it's a circus trying to eat.

we hold seasons passes...
no. they check every bag carefully. u must throw out the food to enter.
they even have huge trashcans right there for your convience.. LOL

how about a cooler left in the car with ur sandwitches?

I usually pack a cooler with drinks and snacks for the 90 minute ride home. We are always hungry and tired at the end of the day.

The food thing really irritates me. I would give them 20.00 just to let me eat my healthy sandwich :lmao:

I used to have Platinum passes but I stopped a few years ago and until they imliment some kind of fast pass system I won't renew them. We are going on the free military pass.

We just got back. While we did not have any food, I can tell you that they did check backpacks and bags pretty well. They did let us carry in our water bottle though.

I carried in a backpack with food, diapers, extra clothes...etc, for my son. He is on a special diet. No one made me throw away the food. We were there in March. They did look carefully at the bag's contents.

We are pass holders as well and we bring in food and drink every time we go. You can not bring in any glass and they do have a size limit on the cooler. If you look online on their web site you can find it. We have never been asked to throw away food. We have brought snack wraps, sandwiches, fruits, veggies with dip, trail mix and bottled water.

of course baby food and special needs are the exeptions.
i dont see where food is allowed on the website.

I was refering to the size of the cooler you can use is listed on the web site and we don't have any small children. My kids range in age from 6 to 10. We have brought food with us to both Bush Gardens in Florida and Virginia. They do check bags well but told me I was fine with food/drink as long as I didn't have any glass. Now Aquatica was a different story.

i was refering to someone eles saying they bring in food for a special needs child. i believe they stated the child had special diet.
i can cleary understand that person being allowed.

the cooler is for adventure island. nothing mentioned about busch gardens.
and OF COURSE the virginia portion of the site is down LOL

busch in VA used to have picnic areas in the parking lot.

Anyone successful with bringing a small cooler in recently? We are going this week and it's a long walk back to the car if they won't met me bring it in.

I think that I am going to call them.

Picnic Areas

Picnic areas are situated in each parking lot. Picnic baskets and coolers are not allowed inside the park. (Exception: Baby food and medicine are permitted, but not in glass containers.)

from their web site. That just irritates me.

Yes, they are very strict on their rules about not bringing in outside food and they do check all bags and strollers very thoroughly.

No outside food allowed. They are extremely strict and will search every bag and it gets thrown away or back in the car.

We are platinum pass holders and bring food and water bottles in everytime we go- we have never been made to throw anything away. We actually are just getting home from Busch and while I did not carry in sandwiches I did have a cooler bag full of snacks- crackers, cookies, gogurt, raisins- and security did look at it but said nothing.

I've had mixed experiences at both the parks in FL. I've been asked to toss stuff and I've gotten a few snacks/water in. I've seen the same in the bag check line, some people being asked to toss stuff and others not. It may have to do with babies and special diets but we no do not apply for either category (we do have kids, but they aren't babies/toddlers anymore).
