I know, you are asking why we would want to do that. My brother, and I have shared a contract since 2005. Generally, it has actually added to our flexibility. However, coming year I am booking a vacay that will use all "my" 2017 points (100) plus another 100 of "my" 2018 points. In reality though, that booking is using my brother's 2017 100 points. The downside I see is that if he wants to book a vacation, he will actually be the one that has to borrow. If he has to cancel though, he will be stuck with those points in the 2017 use year, As opposed to being able to cancel, and then still bank them to 2018 if need be. His likelihood of having to cancel is higher than mine. So would MS let me borrow from 2018 if we still had points available in 2017? Or, if he books a vacation as well and uses "borrowed" points, would they re-allocate all of the borrowed points to our vacation? And allocate the current use year points to his vacation? eesh I have a headache thinking about it....
