Can you book more than one room for the same time?

DH and I will probably buy a resale at BWV. Originally, my parents, sister and nieces were planning to go to WDW with us in summer 2010. We are looking to buy a 150-point contract at BWV. With that, we would have enough points (banking, borrowing, depending on length of stay, etc.) to get 3 Studios with a standard view. Would DVC allow me to book this 11 months out at my home resort?

Also, if we fall short a few points, and my parents and sister still would like to stay for that long, could they pay a cash difference to be able to stay as long as we do?

You can reserve more than one room. Technically, you can not make up the room cost of points and cash in one night; however, what you can do is pay for some nights in points and the rest of the nights in cash, and ask MS to link the reservations all together so no one has to change rooms.

You might want to look into renting points or a transfer to lower the cost.

If you plan to try and get the 25% member discount off of rack rate, be aware that it would only apply to the room in which the member is staying. You can't use the cash discount for other rooms. I suppose you could work it out among yourselves if your parents wanted to give you the $$$ to pay for "your" room. I'd also check to see whether there might be a better discount available for the cash room --- sometimes there are offers that are better than 25% (and you'd get daily housekeeping for the cash nights; unlike the member discount cash).

Your family members could not get the standard view rooms for cash. Those are only available for points stays. You'd have to move for part of your stay to preferred views for cash stays.

If you get a transfer from another member, make sure you get BWV points. If you get points from a different resort, they retain their home resort and could not be used until 7 months out at BWV. Standards would be gone by then.
