I think you can book a hotel room…just wondering if you can use points for a club level resort room?

You can book club level resort rooms. From this page scroll down under 2023 or 2022 past the DVC resorts and select Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort, etc. The resulting PDF file lists points for various room types at the selected resorts, including club level.

There is the Kilimanjaro Club at AKL which is official DVC rooms (Studios and 1-Bedrooms) but all of the others are hotel rooms that have horrible point conversion rates.

The only club level DVC rooms are five 2BR lock-offs at AKV Jambo (which can be reserved as studio, 1BR or 2BR). The AKV point chart shows the fairly high points needed per night for staying in those rooms. As to being able to actually get one: usually, at least as to the studios (and thus the 2BRs), most AKV DVC members trying to book them fail in doing so because they disappear within nanoseconds at 11-months out at 8 a.m. eastern when AKV members can start to book them.

The only other option, as mentioned above is to trade out a lot of points for a club level stay at a non-DVC Disney resort that has them. Note also, that any DVC points purchased resale on or after March 21, 2011, cannot be used for any trade-out to a non-DVC Disney Resort.

I've stayed in the AKV club level studio many times using my DVC points. I don't consider the points high considering all you get for that point price, I actually consider it a really good deal...a really nice breakfast spread, (mimosas included), and a really nice evening appetizer spread with wine and beer, and an ok dessert spread with nice mixed drink options (and snacks in between). Plus, being in one of the nicest resorts with so much to do. Well worth the number of points required for the AKV club level studio IMHO!
