Well my Dis family, can you believe that it's been 8 weeks since my Matt left? Most of you know that this isn't my first deployment but I think that this one is almost harder because now I really know what I'm missing. I know that I'm missing waking up beside him, holding his hand when walking around the mall, and of course with the holidays and our annv coming he is missing those as well. I didn't really know what it was like to be a married couple until he came home last year and we got to spend some of it together.

In the past 8 weeks, we have lost 15 soliders from the division. This isn't a great start to the deployment that is for sure. I'm also leading our Family Readiness Group and now working with care teams, which is so emotional and hard to do. We think that Matt may come home in April or May for R&R but of course nothing is cemented until he is here. Oh, and I think he is reenlisting for 4 more years. Gotta love the army life :earboy2: Thank you for your continued support of us and all the prayers. Please continue to do so. It's all very much appreciated.

Wow! 2 months down! :)
Hang in there, I know the holidays are the hardest. It is great that you are part of a care team. Praying for your DH's safe return.

Hey Tina,
Please know that I am always here for you. I want you to know that I've spent all day yesterday and today praying for the Troops.

I haven't heard from my friends - so I'm taking that as a good sign that their son is okay.

If you need anything, just give me a shout-- I am feeling generous and full of goodwill tonight - I'll even let you keep my tube of RADIANT RED lipstick!

Continued good wishes, prayers, and thanks, Tina, for all Matt and others are doing, and families, like you.'s

Thanks to you and your husband for the sacrifices you both make. I can't imagine how much you miss him.

Hey...you're two months closer to seeing him again... :grouphug:

If you're leading your family readiness group then you've got a lot on your hands already. That is a ton of work and emotionally draining. Which division is your dh with? I believe I read you were are ft. campbell so I'm guessing it's the 101st?

An ex-bf of my dd's was with the 101st when they first deployed to Iraq right before the war started. Oh my, I remember how hard it was to follow the casualties and yet it was impossible not to. Because everyone was so mobile at the time and communications were spotty at best it was terrible just waiting to see what division, what brigade, what company, what unit. And you have to deal with all of the families fears too. That's a huge job and it takes a special person to handle it all. My best wishes for a safe and happy return of all the soliders and your's especially.

 Hang in there Tina. You know we're here if you need us...and Pam is always around just waiting and willing to be harrassed. :rotfl:

What a wonderful hero your Matt is. Tell him thank you next time you communicate with him. And thank you for loaning us your husband...you're a hero too. Good luck and God speed to him for a quick and safe return to you. You're in my prayers.

 It's true, Tina. It's what I do best - just lie in the ditch and wait for one of you to run me over.......

Tina, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there sweetie. Your Matt is one heck of a special guy!

Hang in there....the time will pass, some days slower than others, but it'll pass. :grouphug:

 That two months has gone quickly! Hoping the rest of his time goes just as fast.

Tina:

I think you're right that the second time around is even more difficult. My prayers go out to you and Matt, especially during this holiday season. My husband has been home a week now and I still can't get used to the fact that he's here to stay (for now at least) and not just home on R&R. I hope that the rest of his deployment goes by for you just as quickly and that he's safely home very soon.

Keep up the good work with the FRG, I know you're making a difference to a lot of families...

My thoughts are with you in this time! :grouphug:

PS: Please tell you husband how much his service is appreciated!

Sounds like you are busy taking care of everyone else. That can be draining and rewarding at the same time. Take some time for yourself and keep your chin up. Your dis family is here for you whenever you need us.
