Can you bank eligible points more than twice in a UY while in the banking window?

Can't find a definitive answer using search and I'm not ready to call DVC Member Services yet. Sept UY application. Bank by April 30th.

Back last Oct 2019 I banked so my Sept 2019 UY points into 2020 to support an Oct 2020 reservation (which also used all my 2020 and some 2021 UY borrowed points).
I am still in my 2019 banking window (till end of April).

I have an early May reservation, and at this point suspect I may need to cancel.

Questions:

1. If I cancel this reservation by April 3 (outside 30 day Holding window), can I BANK the points into my 2020 UY by April 30th even though I previously banked some points earlier in the year? i.e., Banking multiple times in a UY of eligible points within the banking window. I'd like to do this on-line and not have to call Member Services.

2. If I call Member Services, will I be able to apply these 2019 UY BANKED points to my Oct reservations, and in so doing, have my 2020 UY points I used for this reservation returned to my 2020 UY? Then I could if I desire, use these 'recovered' in my 2020 UY, or BANK into 2021 - this is not double banking, all eligible points. I sense that DVC is doing this as technically I'm not breaking any points rules nor double banking. Wish I could avoid a call, but think I may have to.

Thank you and stay safe and happy!

What kind of points did you use for the early May reservation? i.e. what UY and were any banked or borrowed?

There is no limit to the number of times you can bank. You can bank all or some at your discretion as long as you do so prior to your banking deadline. But as you know, you will have to cancel that early May reservation at least 31 days prior to arrival to avoid holding status. If you used 2019 points for that reservation and cancel on time, there won't be a problem banking the returned points.

You are not breaking any rules by asking to have points reallocated.

After you bank the 2019 points that were returned when you cancelled the May reservation, you can reallocate them to the October 2020 reservation yourself. Just use the MODIFY button on the October 2020 reservation and choose the same resort and dates. The system will automatically use the banked points first, then the borrowed points. Any "leftovers" will come back to your account as current 2020 points and you can bank those as long as you do it before 4/30/2021. (You won't actually be able to bank 2020 points until after your 2020 use year begins on 9/1/2020).

Yes, you can bank as often as you want in your banking window,

So, if you cancel May, and it returns your 2019 UY points, you can bank them.

Once they are there, you can modify your October reservation online and just follow it through to the end without changing a thing and once you rebook, it will automatically take those newly banked pots and free up your 2020 UY points, even if it looks like it won’t.

Awesome!! They are all 2019 points, so the MODIFY for my Oct reservation should work (I did not know about that flexibility). Thank you all for the quick and helpful responses. DW says wait till next week, but we'll still be in all out cancel/banking windows.

It is a great feature because it means no calling MS.

Final Update: We'll we finally decided to cancel our early May 2020 trip. Here's how my points ended up doing everything on-line. Hopefully this will help others in similar situations. All DVC points rules were adhered to.

1. Cancellation went fine - the 65 - 2019 UY points went back into our 2019 Sept UY. Must bank by April 30th.

2. Banked my 65 remaining 2019 UY points into our 2020 Sept UY. This was the 2nd time I banked 2019 points. So, yes, you can bank as many times as you want within your banking window. Good to know and confirmed.

3. MODIFIED (without changing any details) my 2020 Oct trip which had previously used 33 banked 2019 points, 160 - 2020 UY points, and 53 Borrowed 2021 points. The new reservation now used my 98 banked 2019 points, the previous 53 Borrowed 2021 points, and 95 - 2020 UY points. This leaves 65 - 2020 UY points to use or bank into 2021 as desired.

4. I was under the false understanding that my 2021 Borrowed points would be returned, but alas that is not the case when you simply MODIFY. The only way Borrowed points get returned per DVC rules is if you CANCEL a reservation. No way was I going to CANCEL an Oct 2-BR Std at BLT! Fortunately the 98 Banked points did get used which now frees up the previous 2020 UY points which I can use or bank into 2021 if I desire.

5. As this is our AP year (thru 10/13/20), we will try to squeeze in a trip in Sept or Nov (if AP extended that far), so all in all the process worked as intended and I haven't lost any points. The only downside to not having my Borrowed points returned is that I will need to use these 65 points before my 2022 UY. Somehow I think I'll be able to squeeze in a trip by then.

Now back to re-planning our next trip. Hurry up and reopen WDW! Stay happy and healthy everyone.

Just to add some information, The reason borrowed points don’t go back when you modify is because they use banked and borrowed first, and return current UY..that of the trip...since those can still be banked,

When you cancel a trip with borrowed points, they are returned to your account but will still be in borrowed status. They do not go back to the original UY.

Right now, Disney is making the exception to allow borrowed points from canceled March trips that are returned to your account to be put back, That is temporary for this situation.

So, even if you had canceled October vacation, those 2021 UY points borrowed would be stuck in your 2020 UY. You would not have been given an exception to put them back.
