Daft question, I know, but if anyone could help that would be great!!

Ok, my DD8 is afraid to try some of the WDW rides, most notably Space Mountain, TOT, RRC, and especially some of those in Universal.

We have talked her into trying the other "biggies" at WDW - Mission:Space, Dinosaur, BTMRR, Splash Mountain etc, and she is going to give them a go.

So can we "baby swap" her on the rides she wont try? I realise that this scheme was designed for real little ones, but Im still not happy to leave her outside a ride, while we go off and queue for 20 or so mins, leaving her on her own?

I understand that Baby Swap was designed so that parents only had to queue once, so surely this theory still works with older kids?

Any ideas?

yea you can swap any child

No problem - age isn't an issue.

If you were happy to leave her in the baby swap area (as against leaving her outside a ride), you could both ride whilst she waited, rather than take it in turns to stay with her. We did this on Space Mountain with both DDs when they were about 8 and 12, but I appreciate that it's a very different scenario to leave one child on her own rather than two sisters together. Anyway, it's another option you might want to consider :)

Can you pick a different child if you dont want yours back LOL;)

Thanks for all your quick replies.

My problem seems more of a "queuing/cheating" problem though.

As I said earlier my DD8 wont go on some of the rides, but we'll also have my DS11 who cant wait!!

So we could, in fact, ride separately. Me and DS first (while my DF waits with my DD), then he could ride with my DS (who would love to ride each one twice) while I wait with my DD.

But this way we would have to join the main queue twice, which would mean my DD waiting for two long queues to go!

So is it cheating to use Baby Swap, by queuing just the once?

And I presume this FP option is similar to our "Fast Track" in use at Chessington, Thorpe Park and Alton Towers?? If so, these hardly ever work, as by the time the queue is really horrendously long, the fast track tickets have all been allocated.

Correct me if I'm wrong!!

BTW - We're travelling Oct 04 - maybe the queues wont be too bad anyway????

I was hoping my DS8 would be ready to try some of the bigger rides when we go in Oct. (He wouldn't even try dumbo etc. 3 yrs ago though he did manage small world.) It looks like we'll be using baby swap as well and I don't think it's cheating at all! His older brothers were desperate to try anything and everything as soon as they were tall enough!!
Any suggestions for tactics to gently persuade him to try? I'm thinking about trying Buzz Lightyear first as I'm sure he'd love it if I can only get him in!!

We used baby swap on RNR & SM and were given a fast pass for 3 people so I could wait with our youngest in the park and ride later with 2 others in the fast past line.

In your case this means DS can ride TWICE but you will have to wait in the fast past line for second ride.

I hope this makes sense.

Don't compare to fast pass at the UK theme Parks, they really don't work very well at all.

In WDW when you enter the ride, tell them you want to use Parentswitch and they'll either give you a pass that will admit up to 3 people (so yes, DS can ride with both of you) or they'll let you queue together and swap at the ride.

It's a much smoother system, and they're always happy about the older child riding with both parents, this was the highlight of DD's trip last year, as DS was only a baby, she got to ride everything twice.

We did babyswap at the Tower of Terror.

I rode first with my DD age 11, the CM took my DH and my DD's age 9 and 7 (who didn't want to do the ride) downstairs to meet us at the end of the ride. When we got off I was able to take charge of the younger DD's and the CM took my DH back upstairs to the front of the queue and he got in the next available lift. The CM invited my eldest DD to ride the Tower again but she was still too shellshocked to do it at the time!!!LOL
