Hi we are loosing health insurance and I wanted to apply to two different carriers but someone tell me is that is a big no no. Anybody have experience with this? I would really like to apply for both if possible but don't want to risk getting none. Has anyone done this? If so did it hurt your chances?

The only time I've ever applied for insurance not at a company was for my young adult kids and we had to pay when we applied. That wouldn't be conducive to applying to more than one.

I would like to know this too.

What about if you have pre existing conditions? I would bet that you would have to apply to many???

Also, what do you do if you can't remember all the tests you have had done or all of your past medical conditions?

your best bet is get ahold of a broker they can do the leg work for you and compare several different companies with a single application. No cost to you.

We did go through a broker and they told us that one company was very hard to get into. But we are very healthy but that comment scared me so applied to another and was approved quickly so now I am wondering if we would have been approved for the plan we really wanted. Plus the plan I wanted was offered but I found out about a better one through the same company through the info. on the disboards.:thumbsup2 I would really like to apply to the one I like but there is a long approval time and I don't want the family to not be covered. Any advice would be great :goodvibes

My parents have always carried two health insurances at the same time. What one insurance doesn't cover the other insurance does cover.

When I was getting my own insurance last year I applied for 3 different health care plans, and took the best offer.
