We are thinking of joining the DVC- Can you tell me what the current yearly dues is and how that works? We explored the idea of joining about 4 years ago and decided it wasn't the right time for us. This was at the DVC center at the Boardwalk-- if we signed with them at that time they offered to reimburse us for our vacation. Has anyone else had this kind of offer recently? I'm trying to decide if we should wait and join on our next vacation there or just thru the package that they mail us. Any other info or tips is greatly appreciated.

Annual maintenance dues vary by resort. 2002 dues for the BCV are $3.77/point.

At the present time, there are no offers available to "reimburse you for your vacation". There is a magical beginnings incentive available for the BCV. For that, Disney will "buy back" your first year's allocation of points for $5/point. (MB is also available for HHI, & VB. At those resorts the buy back is #10/point). The MB amount can be used to reduce the total purchase price, but cannot be part of the required downpayment. Most people do not see the $5/point as a very good value. YMMV.

The current price per point is $75. It will go up to $80/point on June 1.

Good luck with your decision.

Check out the FAQ at the top of the DVC Forum. It is most helpful and good luck. Don't forget, you can ask any question, someone will know the answer or direct you.:)

Also, don't forget to check out the resale market. You might be able to get something for a lot less/point.

Your Mileage May Vary

They used to use this in car commercials. They'd tell you a certain car gets 40 miles per gallon on the highway, 35 miles per gallon during city driving BUT they always added the disclaimer "your mileage may vary".

Here, and elsewhere on the internet, it usually means "this was my experience, your experience may be different" or "this is my opinion, your opinion may be different".

Hope this helps!
