Can you add someone at check in?

Here's the situation: My husband, daughter and I are going WDW and I am thinking of purchasing the dining plan for the three of us. My daughter's boyfriend may come with us at the last minute. What happens if we show up with four people who need the plan? Will they let us add him at check in or will they negate our previously purchased plans since not everyone will have previously purchased the plan? Anyone know ? Thanks !

It is my understanding that you will have to add him to the room first, then purchase a MYW plus dining for him as well. This should not disrupt your previous room reservation. You will have to change any ADRs previously made for 3 people.

As far as I know the DDP cannot be added at check-in. I think you have 72 or 48 hours, something like that, to have it added to a res.
I would call in and add him as soon as you know. And call Disney to verify.

In April I booked the free dining pkg as soon as it became available for me and my mom and made all of our ADRs the same day. The weekend before the promotion ended (last day to book was on a Sunday) my ex decided he might like to come with us, but wouldn't know until he spoke with his boss. Afraid it would mess up our free dining I went ahead and added him to the room (and so the dining), but the CM told me I could have waited up until five days out to add him. The fee to change a pkg wouldn't occur because our price would be going up, not down, but she said the dining plan 'must' be added no later than five days prior to check in. Once he found out for sure he could make it I called to change our ADRs from two people to three and got the times I wanted within about 20 minutes, except of all places Whispering Canyon . They do not have a three table top available on the night we want to go and I've been trying for about a month now several times a week. One of the CMs advised we just keep our current ADR and show up with three people, but I'm going to keep trying to change it until we get there.

We have had to add a person or 2 to our ADR at the very last minute and brought them with us to the restaurant and it has never been a problem. You might just have to wait a few extra minutes to the appropriate table size becomes available.
