We are considering booking 2 rooms for our next trip instead of one; it leaves the options open for us since it's a while off! I've read that you can't change rooms once you've booked, or that you can't add people, or you can't cancel people out of a room; I can't remember!

So . . . . if I book DH in 1 room with DS, and me in another with DD, if we don't have another baby or we don't take parents with us, can we cancel that room and add DH and DS to my room? In other words, how is the best way to make ressies if you need to be flexible?

TIA! :flower:

Hi we did this for Sept..

1 room booked me, dh , dd6, ds 9
2 room bookd FIL, and a TBA (to be announced)
We know one more person is coming, not sure of you exactly, so booked it like that to guarantee that rate, and not wanting to put a name, and then paying money to change it...IF another person is coming, a possibility, then we will have to pay the going rate at the time...

My travel agent at Du (debi) was a gem at explaining the best way...

HTH :goodvibes

Wanted to add: If no one else comes, we cancel this room (in Time) and get 100% refunded...

We booked 2 last sailing (04 Thanksgiving Western) and did the same myself and 1 DD 14 in a cat. 6 and DW and other DD 12 in a cat. 11 across the hall. Neighbors ended up booking a couple months after we did and book a DD in each of our rooms to save them $$$$$.
The only "hook" I can forsee is that some rooms only hold 3. So if you book 2 and 2 you might only be able to add 1 per room........

Oh ya, you can cancell, transfer, upgrade downgrade etc. as long as you are 60 days out......

I have one other thing to think about....I booked my cruise in Feb. for my family of 3. I changed the rooms no fee when I realized (hoped) that I would get pregnant. But the travel agent explained that even though I booked a room that can sleep 4, that there are maximum's of each age group that they allow. So if then maximum # of infants has been reached, the baby can't go. I just called the TA to see if I could add an infant now and what would happen if I need to cancel.

I'm pretty sure that when you add additional people they go in a the current rate -- not the rate that was booked. And, if you add kids, you may have a problem if the kid quota on the ship is filled already.

I was told that if room is available, you can add people at the current price, not what you booked it for.

We have two rooms (connecting cat 9) booked, three adults and two kids for the 05 Christmas cruise. Well one adult, mom, may not come, so I asked about moving the rest of the family into one room, cheaper based on our original booking date, which is good but was told by the TA and Disney that once the quad occupancy is sold out you cannot make a non quad room into a quad room. Does not make sense to me, as I was thinking that I am giving up one room therefore more rooms to sell, maybe to a couple as I belive the ship is full for kids.

So I may be a family of four with two staterooms!!! Hey looking on the bright side each one of us have a bathroom!!!!

I does have to do with "Quad occupancy". The question has been asked MANY times....how do they figure it? Is it kids clubs getting full, is it lifeboat capacity.....I've never recieved and answer.
Mikaylas Mom, I don't know when you are sailing but I know that you can't be a certain "term" to sail. I want to say 7 months....Now that I think about it on our last 4 sailings I don't remember seeing any women that looked like they wre "expecting"....kind of odd being that it IS disney and all.......

we booked 2 rooms for the extra space and hopes that my mom would go with us. We did so....11 months before our sailing. Just last month..my mom agreed to go. all we did is contact our DU agent and requested she be added. luckly...there was still room on our sailing...so, our dd's will be able to sail with their Nana. Good luck..

Thanks everybody! So, I guess the point is, you can change around but each change costs you money as the price of the cruise goes up!

Thanks for the help! :flower:
