Can you add days to your ticket like you can at WDW?

If we purchase a two day, and decide we actually do want to go in the parks a 3rd day, can we add that at the discounted rate?

Will it be more expensive than to order ahead?

Thanks!

You can indeed add days to a Disneyland Resort Theme Park Ticket. Simply visit City Hall, located on Main Street USA at Disneyland Park, or the Guest Relations Lobby at Disney's California Adventure Park. You can also visit any of the Ticket Booths located in the Main Entrance Plaza.

You will have to pay the difference between the ticket prices. To upgrade a Two-Day ParkHopper Ticket into a Three-Day ParkHopper Ticket, this would amount to $26.00 for Guests aged 3 thru 10, and $36.00 for Guests aged 10 and older.

If they upgrade on the second day would they qualify for MM (assuming the 3rd day is an MM day)?

& (just thinking out loud) if coming from the East Coast.....wouldn't it make sense just to get the 3 day hopper to take advantage of MM the first possible day?

Cindy Dreamer.....are you a first time DLR visitor? (if so you'll want/need 3 days anyway)

& are you staying at a DLR hotel (or a nice motel across the street on Harbor)?

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

I've got a small question that's risen from this post (and is highly related) so hopefully it's ok to add it here...

What's the largest number of days that you can upgrade to through this method?

I've got a 5 day hopper booked, so I'm wondering if I can upgrade higher than that if I'm back from one of my other park trips early and want to go into DLR for the evening. My travel agent only offers up to 5 day hoppers, so I'm unsure if this is the maximum or not.

The chances of keeping that discount are, well, up to the CM that day. WDW does not discount their buy-ahead-of-time tickets, but DLR does. WDW "bridges" the price from what you bought it for to the gate value, after using the ticket even once...DLR does not have that policy.

If you haven't bought tickets, I would just buy the 3 day tickets, b/c the MM is nice and you'll want to go that third day. :)

You can upgrade from a 5 day hopper but I'm not sure what they have after that either. I want to say they have 6 day hoppers but not sure, it may be best for you to just get an AP, get a Deluxe AP and you get discounts. If you want to use the MM do that before you upgrade tho because APs don't get MM priveledges.

I'm curious now......we purchased 5 day park hoppers with a DGC park view room direct from Disney and I've called three times now to add Fantasmic PV and a bunch of PS meals. Each time I say to the CM on the VP phone line "I want to change my 5 day park hopper to 6 days". They have all told me to "do it when I check in at the hotel". I don't understand why it's not easier for them to to it while I am on the phone then for me to do it at the hotel. And I am silly for not asking them why or if there is a price difference, I just say "OK" :rolleyes1

Can anyone confirm that I can do this at check in and not have to wait at the ticket gates?

Thanks!

Don't even tempt me - I'm already a Disneyland Paris Annual Pass holder (though I've not actually had time to use it since I bought it). The flights from here aren't cheap - I'll be bankrupt if I've got an AP as it would be so tempting to visit :rotfl:

It might be worth it to think about tho, see how the numbers run. Even with an AP you don't have to make a return trip, some people get them just for discounts on current trips. I'd run the numbers for you but I have no idea how that all works out......lol :)

This will be our second visit to DLR, and we will be staying at a Disney hotel (I think...so far as I have gotten in the process...) I really want to take advantage of the MM as well due to the time difference/adjustment. Dh does not want to do more than two days as we have been to a Disney park twice a year three years in a row, and he is not as big of a fan. :confused3

Personally, I want the 3 for 5. ;) But we should get the MM on the days it is available. Only staying two nights. He says to stay Sunday and Monday night of our week there as he feels that attendance will be lower on M and Tu. (we arrive on Friday and leave the following Sunday).

I am hoping he will soften to the idea of going to the parks another day and add on to a 3 day.

I am having a lot of fun planning this last minute trip for next month! Trying to find the best deals and fun package perks.

Thanks so much for everyone's help!

Actually your best bet for low attendance is probably Tues-Thurs, see if you can get him on board with that instead. You'll probably find lower hotel rates those nights too.

Unfortunately, there is no availability for Tuesday night at any of the Disney hotels! :(

I originally tried for the 5 for three special, but Tuesday night bumped us out from being able to do that. It was an incredibly good deal. I wish that we could have done that one. I think dh would have even agreed since it was a great deal on the hotel.

Sounds like you already know that by staying at a DLR hotel you will get MM each morning it's available (Both on the day of departure AND ON THE DAY OF ARRIVAL).

Are you visiting in the summer (or fall)?

If in the fall, I would suggest the following:

- Tell him you need to arrive at 6:30am on Sunday to enjoy MM & because Sunday is a good day to visit both early & late.
- Also Sunday (during the Fall) would be THE day to enjoy the fireworks etc. (not available Mon or Tue).
- Once you're there touring on Monday, you tell your frugal loving spouse that it's only ($$??) more for Tuesday....& we can enjoy MM AGAIN !!!!

If visiting when the fireworks are daily (during busier times), the same strategy applies, you just can't leverage the "only see the fireworks on Sunday" benefit.

Good luck & have a great day!

Ah, Hound, you give good sound, logical advice and arguments. Alas, he would not bite. I presented him with the facts, and he said, 'Well, then let's just go to the parks on Sunday and Tuesday, and hang out by the pool on Monday.'

I wash my hands of him. (he is otherwise a good man though...) ;)

Wow...he's good. :rotfl:

....but he doesn't know that he's dealing with Cindy Dreamer.

Go with his plan.....then inform him (on Monday morning) as you are on your way (with the kids) over to DCA (thru the secret GCH entrance) that "the pool" (in the GCH) is adjacent to DCA.....& per his desires, you intend to "hang out"...."by" it. ;)

:lmao:

JK....you'll have a great time no matter how it turns out. :thumbsup2

Max PH is 6 days.
