Can you add an extra person onto the Deed for an add on?

There was nothing at all done to the original contract. The only paperwork that went through was that of the 2 add ons. We never were nor were we added to the original contract. (Off paper we did own 55 of their 70 point add on).

It's possible it was done without being obvious. But if not, I can see a lot of people adding on to get family members & Friends on the deeds.

Dean, As long as you have met the Original buy in of 150 points (like T68 DF had) you can split subsequent contracts up and still meet the 150 minimum for a new deed. This would not apply to a new purchaser.

I just purchased 2 smaller contracts from DVC each 75 points, and was able to treat it as a new ownership interest. I have 2 different member numbers and have to give MS each one in order for them to see my total points. They are also different UY.

Tramp68, I was not implying you did anything out of the norm, just stating that I think the language is a little confusing. Add-on has 2 different meanings as used in this thread and how it applied to your situation.

The OP asked can a different person be added to an add-on contract. The simple answer to that is no. Not without additional closing costs to change the original contracts deed. This did not apply to your case because you will have a new deed. In order to get a new deed you have to purchase 150 points. You met that requirement.

The fact that your DF's original OKW contract was not amended says that he is now an owner of 2 DVC memberships. This is exactly how my purchase went.

Yes, many people on this board have purchased 25 point resale contracts as a starter and add-on when they want.
This is correct as long as the names on the original contract are the same.
The deed has to reflect the proper owners. In order to change the names on the deed you have to pay closing.

We have 4 owners, myself, sister and my 2 children. We all live at different addresses. As long as you are a owner it doesn't matter if you live together. They own all points just as I do but only the people living in the same house as the owner has the discount. My children were added to the contracts when they reached 21 and we didn't get an addon to do it. We met with a DVC rep at OKW and signed all the papers. It was simple but not free. It cost us a few hundred dollars.

You paid closing, because the deed needed to be changed to reflect all the owners.

That is different than what I've been told in the past, I'll have to check on it. I wonder if they did so because it's two 75 points making it 150. In the past they've refused to sell a different use year when one wanted to add on even if they didn't have the use year the buyer wanted.
