I haven't gotten into and hour by hour plan yet. We have 3 kids (8, 7 and 5). We've been to Disneyland the past two years, and WDW 3 years ago. I'm just starting to look at which days for which parks. We'll be there a Mon-Fri during low season (early Feb). Looking at EasyWDW for recommended parks, and crowd predictions.

We'll have 5 day passes, so planning 2 x MK, AK, HS, and EP. Most recommended parks are: Mon - HS, EP / Tue - MK, AK, HS / Wed - EP, HS, AK / Thu - MK, HS / Fri - EP, AK. Based on those, starting or ending on MK would not be recommended. That's a tough pill to swallow.

Here's what I'm considering Mon-Fri: HS on Mon, AK on Tue, EP on Wed, MK on Thu and Fri. With that plan, we get one recommended MK day on Thu. Plus we finish there on a day that its open later. We'd essentially end with the MSEP and Wishes.

Alternatively, we could do HS, MK, EP, MK, AK and stick with all of the recommended parks. We'd do the earlier MSEP and Wishes on Tuesday night, and have both MK recommended days. But Friday would end at 5:00 pm when AK closes.

What would y'all do? Any help and opinions are greatly appreciated.

If you have hoppers, I'd go for the 2nd plan and hop to MK after AK. If you don't have hoppers, I would also chose the 2nd plan because you don't have the same park 2 days in a row and you would have MK on your 2nd day and don't have to wait for your favorite park (I assume MK is your favorite). Another thing, if MK is your favorite park and you put it all the way at the end, you will probably be tired at the end of the week, as there is no time for non-park days/rest.

So that, with probably lower crowds... to me it would be an easy choice :D

If you don't have/want to get hoppers, what about going to one of the MK hotels and watch the fireworks from there on your last day? I have never done it, but I believe you can get good views from Poly's beach and the Contemporary resort. Not sure if you can access the viewing areas when you are not staying there.

That's good advice. I like the idea of heading to Poly for the fireworks. Is it possible to get a 5 day pass, with only one day for hopping?

Thanks for the help.
